Guys, is there any way to change the region (Internal region, US/EUR/ASIA) of the TV like with old LG TV's? mine is an European B6 and i'd like to change it to USA, because the firmwares are always faster there, while on europe we have to wait months

If it is possible, how can i do it? what should i change on the service menu?

Yeah it looks like your OLED light is maxed out at 100. Lower it to 50. Lower your brightness to 50 and your contrast to 83 and gamma BT1886. Let us know if that works.

@rogue13 Thanks for the reply. I have my brightness set at 55. I have it higher to show the the vignetting on the right side of the panel.

Also, do you see the two thick black horizontal lines in the middle of screen? Just want to confirm that's horizontal banding.

It looks like a little bit of banding, but with lower brightness and normal conditions it shouldn't be visible.

The banding and vignetting is only present in black scenes, particularly before or after opening credits.

Thanks.
I agree with Rouqe,
Your 5% slide looks good. My last panel was worse then that but still looked acceptable. Can you post your general settings? Brightness/contrast/OLED light...

Intentionally raising brightness to show defects would make any of these TVs fail the uniformity test. No, you won't find one that is band-free. Take it from someone who's had intimate experience with 5 separate units from the 2016 lineup.

Thanks @rogue13 and @Superman23
I'll try with lower settings to see if it gets better.

It was hard to show LG the defects without increasing the settings. They would only accept default settings from picture mode in flash drive rather than any calibrated settings, which was unsettling.

Also, searching the forums I haven't seen much evidence of the horizontal banding... normally it's vertical. Not sure how much upsets me more though, the vignetting or the banding.

It's hard not to worry but the more hours you have on it the less the Banding / Vignetting gets. Almost like the more it breaks in the more flawless it'll get. Video said this too and he's had 6.

I appreciate the feedback @Superman23 , @video_analysis , and @rogue13 .

It's good to know it gets better rather than worse. I've got about 2000 hours on the TV, so I'm hoping it'll smooth out soon.
@rx74ray
Offhand my general settings are -
46 brightness
85 contrast
85 oled brightness
gamma low/medium

Try OLED light at 45-50. Your panel won't glow as much. The rest looks prett normal to what we're all using though.

What's your general settings for 3D? I think calibrating for 3D was when I started noticing the defects.

I like a little brighter so I run
OLED 58
Brightness 53
Contrast 83
Gamma BT 1886. If I run 2.2, I have to lower brightness.
Still have true black and I have enough brightness to keep a good picture with the room lit.

If you're at 2000 hours already, it might not improve much more than it already has. I seem to remember it really coming into its own shortly after 2000 hours, however (with my most visible band fading into obscurity on content).

I have the B6 so I don't have 3D. I think isf calibrators generally will increase the OLED light and brightness though for 3D settings.

Hey everyone.

Still loving my E6, the 3D is amazing, but the judder is really getting to me. Especially when the screen pans left or right. What are everyone's experiences with judder now that we've had some time with our sets and what are y'all doing to combat it? (TruMotion is, of course, off.)

For Custom User settings I do -
Deblur 10
Dejudder 1 - 2 (depending on content)

For 3D
Deblur 10
Dejudder 1 - 3 (depending on content)

AVS Forum's Scott Wilkinson just wrote a piece about future proof TV's and he made this statement:

"I definitely recommend getting a 2017 LG OLED over a 2016 model, because LG made some significant improvements in the new sets."

I just bought the 2016 55C6 - what am I missing?

I set TruMotion to 0,10. Any use of dejudder higher than 0 causes artifacts with blu ray movies, which can be very obvious at times.

Not at dejudder 2 and deblur 0. A lot of people have been loving these settings. It's so slight you can't notice a soap opera effect.

Even with dejudder at 1 there are artifacts. Put on the Spears and Munsil disc with the hammock test. Watch all the motion artifacts as the hammock moves back and forth. Watch the hammock strings ghost onto the pavement. It is very obvious. Set at 0 and they disappear. Dejudder should not be set higher than 0 for blu ray or any 24 fps material.

I'm glad I don't know what judder is. Same with "vignetting" lol. Is that like dead pixels?

Nothing. They are supposedly a wee bit brighter. Like I really need that. And maybe better for hard core gamers. And you'll pay $2000 more. I do need that!

Sorry. I thought you had an E6. Mis read your signature. Your setting may be perfect for the B6.

You are missing the fact that Scott Wilkinson ISN'T the end all be all of AV... The prices are so low for 2016s, compared to the 2017s... you are not getting a lot for those extra dollars.
