First flash (2 weeks in) now, too

2 weeks in (actually waiting for a replacement as I have the FPR 3D crosstalk defect) and I saw my first Flash last night while watching TV.
Single flash, hasn't re-occured.
On the LATEST firmware.....

Does anyone think that Tyler Durden from Fight Club might be working for LG?

I'm gonna call LG VIP tomorrow, wanna help voice the problem; light banding during sports fast pans I can probably live with, but full screen flashes during all content, no acceptable.

Are you getting exchange through LG or your retailer?

Has anyone received an exchange/replacement for crosstalk and if yes, is the new set better?

For me a brightness of 52 allows me to see the 1% star on Disney Wow, and on the checkerboard, virtually every square is viewable down to 0%. At most, I may be crushing 1/2%.

I've had my set since Thursday and have been watching movies/videos and playing a lot of Uncharted 4 and Doom (2016) on the set, it looks and feels AMAZING. Especially those 2 games since they are visual feasts. Just be sure to switch to "Game" picture mode when you do.

I will take picture tonight of that scene. For regular tv viewing, during day, Oled light 80, contrast 85, sharpness 15, warm 1 color, brightness 52, gamma 2.2. For night viewing, lower OLED light to your liking, brightness 51, and 2 point low to -11, -11, -11. Everything else the same. For blu ray, I use gamma 1886, brightness 52.

Since I get dolby through optical on this tv, I use the tv speakers along with my speakers connected to AVR. They actually sound very good together.

Have you had a chance to test any uhd blu Ray with HDR? I'm curious if the e6 is similar to the ef9500 in how it handles black levels with HDR. With the EF I ended up having to use black level high with a lower brightness to get what seemed like proper blacks. Does this set do a better job when HDR engages without having to adjust anything?

I have yet to test HDR via blu ray on this tv. Probably will sometime this week. I think it will be a lot better, just based on the options when the tv is fed HDR10. It gives you 3 choices for HDR10.

HDR Vivid
Sharpens the image by increasing the contrast, brightness and sharpness.

HDR Bright
The screen appears as a bright and colorful screen than the HDR Standard.

HDR Standard
Optimized the screen for HDR video signal.

So would I be correct in saying that you essentially use your soundbar as a center speaker? Any problems with dialogue ?

Hi there,
no; I purchased the set via Amazon (directly, not just 'fulfilled' by), so my exchange is coming from Amazon. The E is (and has been) out of stock since I received mine, hence I am still waiting. My set is 'perfect' other than the 3D crosstalk (top); the flash happened for the very first time last night (and hasn't re-occured since).

Amazon; that's where i bought it.
They are out of the E (so I am waiting for stock; though the replacement order has been placed). They only have G right now.

To get 4K 4:4:4 you need to turn on UHD Depp Color support on the E6 HDMI port which connects to your PC and thats it, assuming you have a PC with the required hardware support.
I can confirm this is the case on the EF9500 too.

My E6 went through the automatic software update to 03.10.17 today. I've seen some intermittent flashing the last few days; hopefully, this fixes it.

Has anyone noticed any improvements with this update?

I never seen HDR on the EF, but HDR blu rays on the E6 looks crazy good. I use the HDR Bright preset and bump up brightness to 53, Dynamic Contrast high, Dynamic Color medium, Color Gamut wide, Super Resolution high, Black Level low, and Tru Motion off are all my changes. It may not be proper, but I love the way it looks. Even the mastered in 2K films look great like Hitman and Scorch Trials. And don't get me started on The Revenant and Sicario. These make me not want to leave the house... Ever again! 😄

Saw my first flash last night. On FW 03.10.17. Be interesting to see if it's gamma related. It happened when using gamma 1886. Never happens when using 2.2.

One thing I noticed with the firmware is that when I initially got my g6, HDR format modes still used color normal rather than wide. I thought that was weird because HDR on my ef color would change to wide.

Bet the flashes are voltage related somehow. Bet a firmware update will fix and that all panels have the white flash.

Could also be a random frame insertion issue associated with motion. That can also be fixed.

Interesting fact. If the white flashes happen and those of you are running through an AVR, please note if the AVR is trying to resync the handshake. I just experienced something similar and my AVR was also flashing. Not sure if I was seeing same thing but audio was also affected. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a HDCP 2.2 issue. Just my 2 cents.

This happens with the internal apps too, so it's not related to HDMI.

With an E6 what's the best way to play files from my computer on the set? I have a late 2013 MBP with Retina Display with an HDMI port on the side. Will there be any loss of quality compared to my 2011 VT30?
