How do you have the TV hooked up to your speakers?

Will be doing a 5.1 (speakers in ceiling) and would love to use the soundbar as the center. Saw on this forum that you could not use the sound bar as the center.....using the E6.

I have optical to AVR. TV speakers don't act as center speaker. Just adds more sound to the whole setup.

I would put them on an external USB drive and just play them from the TV. You'll have full use of the TV remote to control it and won't need your MBP running at the same time.

What file types can the TV play?

The main reason I wouldn't do this is because then the 5.1 DTS or whatever the case is won't run into my receiver and I lose significant audio quality trying to run the sound out from the tv into my receiver.

The TV can play a large variety of files, including MKV and MP4. It can also pass up to 5.1 DD or DTS via HDMI ARC or optical from these files to your receiver. It will even downconvert DTSHD-MA to DTS (or extract the DTS track).

I'm on the latest firmware and still got a white flash during a movie night with some friends tonight. Thankfully no one said anything, but I'm sure I wasn't the only one to notice. I'm using 2.2 gamma, so it's not tied to one of the options.

Really hoping this can be corrected in an update, I will contact support soon.

It's pretty nice for an onboard video player. It also remembers your place when you stop a video and let's you switch audio and subtitle tracks.

Reading the calibration section of this review got me thinking this might be the white flashes you are all seeing, or perhaps part of the cause

Has anyone using a Roku noticed that the normal "low" black level setting is crushing blacks?

I have a Roku 3 running through my AVR, and I've found that I need to change the black level to "high" on my G6 to achieve a normal picture. It only effects the Roku, which I've been using with the last several TVs I've owned, all utilizing the same AVR. Strange.

Same situation on my 65E6 with Roku 4.

I did not see anything in the article that relates to flashes. Floating blacks is not the same thing.

NTFS as well as fat32?

My old plasma could do none of this... quite a perk I must say.

Watched The Martian UHD blu ray tonight. Looks even better on this tv than the 9500. I prefer HDR bright mode over HDR Standard. The colors don't seem as blown out as the 9500 when set to wide color gamut. Did not have to adjust brightness like I did with the 9500.

Is this a issue with 4K BDs or are people experiencing this in all content from all sources?

All content, all sources, including on-board apps. Haven't seen it with the latest firmware, guess it's just a matter of time.

For people who have experienced white flashes, does it show up on all inputs? In example, watching cable and bluray viewing?

I have not experienced ANY white flashes, but I am curious about the issue.

The section about the screen getting brighter after dimming sections of the screen that had stillbimahes. They said brighter and not flashing but got me thinking, as they mentioned it was quick.

That's great to hear, thanks for the update. Can't wait for my 65E6 to arrive, spending hours fussing with my EF9500 trying to get HDR looking "right" got frustrating after awhile...hoping for less tweaking and more watching with my E6! Looking forward to checking out the different HDR10 modes and also Dolby vision. Any word on an update to the VUDU app to support Dolby vision on the 2016 oleds? I'd love to watch my uhd vudu movies in Dolby vision at some point. Vudu is really botching the whole UHD thing so far IMO, they need to offer more options quickly to view these titles in HDR (either hdr10 or Dolby vision) on more TVs or devices.

It has happened to me while watching over HDMI and while watching apps like the YouTube app.

To whomever asked if it was a UHD thing, no it isn't, I don't even have a UHD player yet and I'm seeing flashes. I'd say on average it's one in every 3-4 hours of content.

That's an alarming rate and I wish LG would clarify if it's fixable with firmware. It could require a hardware fix.
