A little while ago, I turned it on to watch Lost but it was in game mode so I switched it to ISF dark to watch Lost. When I started watching, it was skipping frames every 5 seconds or so. My girlfriend noticed it too. It was very obvious. I've never seen this happen on blu ray so I paused it, switched it to a different HDMI input and put it back to Lost. Everything ran smoothly.

There's something up with the B6 chip that causes this. The same thing with the fact that the input lag switches from 54ms to 44ms when you switch inputs and then switch it back.

Can anyone else test this on the E6 or G6 or has anyone experienced it in the other models? This is the type of thing that has me thinking about going to the E6. I think the pq is basically the same but other things could be better on the other models.
It could also be nothing more than an HDMI handshake issue. These manifest themselves in different ways.

With that said, I've yet to see any one problem (other than white flashes that were evident in all models but the B, but I'd guess that was because the B was newer and its firmware already addressed the issue), that's unique to any given model series. Sure we know about lag time, presence or absence of 3D, sound bars etc, but I've never seen any one model having an issue endemic to that series only.

Even something like uniformity, the panel lottery exists across all lines.

Not only this reason but there are others reason we no longer do it. Chad always provides documentation when a calibration is done, a PDF report with all the settings attached.

Here is another picture after 9 hours of use and 2 cycles. I have not seen any banding on content even when I really look at. Have not seen any dead pixels and my 3D filter must be bang on because there no crosstalk at all. The right side does have a bit of a dark area but it does not really show is content. At very dark scenes I may spot it but you have to be looking for it. I think if I tried an exchange I would most likely get a set with somthing the same if not worst. Just gotta let my ocd calm down then I think I'll be happy. Picture quality is amazing. I'm moving in two weeks and really want to unpack my k8500 to check out some uhd disks.

I wonder if running the clear panel noise would help with the dark edges.

Hi JD,
Robert Zohn linked me to this. You shouldn't be able to see 15 or 16. During calibration we set it so 17 and above are visible.

To rule out an equipment issue, can you tell me which player you're using and what test pattern source? (I assume you're using a disc and not a generator).

Super bummer is streaming is getting good but audio still stinks vs disc audio. At least via this set. I just love my Atmos sound as much as OLED picture.
Haven't gotten to mad dogs yet, but Mozart in the jungle looks incredible. I can only imagine how good Pacific Rim looks on DV, its already amazing on blu ray!

One thing I will tell you is that for the most part these comp cycles work, and your panel will more than likely get better. As far as the manual comp, if their is somethin major then I would run otherwise I would let the tv run the auto cycles.

Thinking of moving from a pioneer pro 150fd plasma to this years current Oled.
I'm worried I might regret it, I would prefer to wait one more year, but we are moving into a new home in a month.
for some reason it makes sense to make the switch now and install a fresh new tv vs lugging the old model along with us.
Plus the wife wants a wall mounted tv vs the stand I have for the Kuro.

Anyone move from a Kuro to Oled?
Thoughts?

UHD Bluray uses a difference codec from 2k Bluray so the bitrate is not directly comparable. It's apples and oranges.

Quite true...H.265, the codec used in UHD, is most efficient (>60% more so than its predecessors) at bitrates of at least 4K as several (albeit subjective) tests have shown.

The crosstalk is bad enough on mine that I'm getting an exchange. I love 3D on this set and have around thirty-five 3D Blu-Rays, so if it's not right, it's going back

I got mine yesterday and as long as I'm sitting in the sweet spot (eyes not to far above or below screen) I get zero crosstalk.

Just ordered 65 inch e6, but just read in this forum last night that someone had issue of white flash reoccurring with latest firmware. Would other owners of the 65 inch e6 please please indicate if you've seen white flash occur post firmware update that allegedly provided fix. Any chance white flash issue could be hardware related since absolutely 0 white flashes reported on b6? Many many thanks and much appreciation in advance for your input!

How is gaming on the E6? Will the Screen Shift feature move in game static HUD images to the left? In addition, will the comp cycle every 4 hours disrupt a game if playing a game on the E6? How is the input lag of 34ms to 36ms affect just single player games not fast placed multiplayer games?

Hi, could anybody walk me through, how to set up the ARC Audio return channel I have a krell foundation 4K unit latest software. I have a LG OLED B6P TV I used HDMI input number 2, which has ARC capability, into the back of the Krall HDMI Output 1. Using the Netflix through my LG TV cannot seem to get sounds to come out of the krell

Thanks, Walter

It's still on the website so it hasn't been pulled. It's just not showing as available through the settings menu. I've been too lazy to download and install it via USB.

First go to settings, then sound, Click on sound out, Change sound out to AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL/HDMI/ARC), Then make sure you you turn SIMPLINK(HDMI-CEC) - ON

Then go into the Krell setup and Enable ARC then go to the input that Krell designates for ARC. On my Yamaha which was the Port configured on the Yamaha by default. ARC didn't work until I found AV1.

Hi, Bill thanks for the quick reply, It seems to be working but the sound keeps dropping out, it does not come back, maybe it is my cable I will have to check my purchase history, On Amazon to see if my cable Is capable.

So the predominant theory is that this pulled firmware was responsible for white flash re-occurrence?

Unfortunately, there is no predominant theory. I'm actually not seeing any new firmware at the site even though it's dated as of a few days ago: http://www.lg.com/us/support-product...ftwareFirmware

I could have sworn 3.15.25 is an older revision from last month.
