I can see weird flickers when watching Inside Out 3D - if any user has this movie can they watch and let me know?
I did not have any issues on other 3D movies.

I'm about 90 posts behind in keeping up and perhaps someone has
already mentioned this device. I have a terrific 512 65EF9500. While at CES 2016 I saw the small DarbeeVision DVP-5000S with remote and bought it later new on EBay from a Texas distributor for a discounted delivered price of $210. I installed it in the cable running from my TWC dvr box to the tv's HDMI input. It does improve the cable picture and can be appreciated especially by very finicky viewers like myself willing to pay the price for some picture improvement. Of course it only operates in the cable you've installed it. To each his own whether to buy one but I wanted readers to be aware.

I have the Darbee too, and it does improve quality. DarbeeVision tech has been built into recent Oppo players, so if you purchase the 4K blu-ray Oppo player due out late this year, you'll have DarbeeVision quality on that source, too.

^^Has Oppo confirmed Darbee will be built into the forthcoming players? If not, there's no guarantee it will return on the new player(s) if/when they come.

G6 for presale at the Sunnyvale, CA Fry's, "we pay the sales tax!" with coupon.

Looked at it, not a big fan of the dark maroon base.

My experience, living with the G6, is different. I find the base with the integrated electronics and speaker bar to be an elegant blend of form and function. That the base extends the full width of the display makes it visually fuse into the stand it's mounted on. (I found a 58" wide furniture stand that's a perfect fit.)

The color is a good, non-reflecting choice, and I find the design makes the base/soundbar disappear when watching TV. I think it's a very non-distracting way to support a TV when it's sitting on a furniture stand.

And I like a stand mount. I put castors on mine so I can adjust the viewing distance as I wish. Want a more immersive display experience? Just move the set closer.

The overall design of the base is probably necessary to support the picture-on-glass, incredibly thin display. That picture-on-glass really shows off the OLED technology. I love it when my friends get a side view of the set for the first time.

BTW, I remember, as a kid, watching KTLA, the first TV station in Los Angeles, come on the air each late afternoon. I've seen a lot of TV's in my life, and the G6 is one of the most beautiful designs I've ever seen. The more I live with it, the better I like it.

Both the upscaling options and input lag are very important for myself. Will definitely be waiting on confirmation if there is any difference between the G6 and E6 before I make any purchases. I will put the extra $$ towards the G6 if I do find there is a difference, although won’t be happy about it. And mainly because of the larger sound bar than the extra money.

So you already canceled your E6 order? I wouldn’t have done that until it was confirmed if there was a difference.

No, still have the E6 on order, they have just gotten 10 more pre-orders on the G6 since I put money down on the E6...

Who are your sources?

And are your sources indicating no PQ difference with non-4K sources? I am hearing the upscaling could not be as good. Also, the input lag for gaming.

Not to get into too many details, but is LG sending you a G6 direct? or did they cut you a check for the original amount paid for the EF9500 and you are paying that plus 1200 for the G6 to a dealer of your choosing?

I watched Inside Our 3D about 45 minutes as after that it got very annoying.
It started right in the beginning and happened often - it was like as if I am blinking my right eye.... now and then.
Will appreciate very much my return window is two more days.

What player do you use? Have you tried to power cycle everything(unplug from the wall for 15-30 seconds)? That's odd that only one movie exhibits this.

Using a very old Sony Bly Ray player...but you could be right as it has frozen a few times and I had to restart although I did not power cycle with 30 seconds.
OTOH - I watched LG OLED 3D 4K Demo on Youtube - this is the one with the Rio Carnival and saw minor flickers - but that could be the source material.
When I watched Hugo - I had no problems at all..

If in every other regard your TV has been fantastic, why would you consider exchanging it just because one 3D BR doesn't play correctly?

Because 3D is the bestest part of the G6 and OLED

I understand that. What I'm saying is that you need to look at everything in the 3D 'chain' before blaming an otherwise 'perfect' TV.

Try different 3D BR's; try a modern BR player; make sure you are using high speed HDMI cables as part of the 'chain'.

According to the LG product director, the different chip in the G6 was strictly for the more powerful audio system. That said, he is checking with the Engineers in Korea to clarify. LG had promised to email me back shortly. I forwarded the clip from the UK article posted yesterday that stated:

"Whilst every 2016 LG OLED television will carry the same core features (3840×2160 resolution, Ultra HD Premium certification, HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR support), a company executive said there’ll be subtle differences in picture quality between ranges due to different SoC (system on chip) used. According to him, the higher-end sets feature a slicker SoC necessitated by soundbar integration, so LG’s engineers figured they might as well make use of the extra capacity to improve video processing. From what we could gather, the key difference would be colour volume which takes into account luminance/ intensity (read: peak brightness) in addition to 2D chromaticities."

What is not clear from this statement is if the difference in picture quality is between the G6 and the other 3 panels or whether it is the G6/E6 vs. C6/B6 because of electronics in the sound bar. I will post whatever response I recevie back as soon as it comes in.

Don't get me wrong, I like the stand, but am not a fan of the dark maroon color.

I would have preferred a flat black myself.

I can't even make out what color it is unless I walk up to it and look down at it in a well lit room. If I stand back, I'm looking at it from an angle and it looks black to me.

It's interesting that the display, when off, gives a maroon tint to any refections. And the reflections are very dim. I wonder if something about the maroon color has some anti-reflection properties. When I stand right over the sound bar and shine a very bright LED flashlight on it, the maroon color seems to turn to black.

Ash, are you playing a 3D copy of Inside Out or using the 3D function on the set?

I'm at WalMart and all I see is the normal BluRay version.

I'd be happy to get a copy and see how it looks, but not sure if I'd be buying the right thing.
