I'll try our Best Buy. If they don't have the 3D version it's a strike out. Savannah is a small retail market.

Anyone using the 3d blu-ray of that movie would also need the same player to really validate anything for Ash. I've watched that 3D bluray on my LED LG (I don't have a G6, just an EF9500 until tomorrow) and it didn't flicker.

Here is what I received back from LG.

"With our documentation the G6, E6, and C6 run the same chipset. So the internal hardware should be identical. We guarantee the set will perform as advertised and the only difference you will be missing on E6 versus G6 is that unique sound plate like stand that the G6 has"

Good news.

Ash, just watched about the first 20 minutes of Inside out and didn't not notice any flickering...I'll try some other 3D movies as well but I'm guessing issue's with your old Blu ray player

Both the sound and video quality of that release are 10/10. Watched it last night and wow.

Glad this latest scare is over, though did they just inadvertently confirm the E6 will have 4 HDMI inputs or did the omission represent an oversight?

Did you happen to discuss whether or not the G6 and E6 will have any differences in performance or quality in regards to the picture, input lag, etc.?

As advertised lists only three HDMI ports so I think they're still safe.

Just a heads up: LG has the E6 in stock and ready to go.

I received a call from them regarding my refund on my EF9500. I was shocked when they offered a straight exchange instead. They offered a straight swap (no additional charge) for the E6, and the G6 at an additional fee. I asked for confirmation, and again, was told, both models were in stock and would ship no later than tomorrow if I made a decision immediately.

I opted for the G6, the price was simply too good to pass up. I'll have it in 7-10 business days. I was genuinely shocked by their offer.

So you already canceled your E6 order? I wouldn’t have done that until it was confirmed if there was a difference.
If it turns out input lag is higher than 34ms on the non G6 models, I will have to put aside my dream of owning the B6 in 2016. I do far too much gaming to make that sacrifice and G6 is simply out of my price range.

Holy hell...so did you ship your EF9500 back to them already? I wasn't going to take this route and preferred going with the convenience of the retailer, but I'm feeling I may do it now.

So...since I already chose the dealer exchange option back in January (with an issued RMA), they're not too accommodating in the way of letting me send it back to them now, which I don't fault them at all. Live and learn. Instead I'll just be watching prices (i.e. Amazon) like a hawk and hope the deals start arriving sooner rather than later.

I'm sitting on an EF9500 that I have considered refunding for a 2016 model (largely due to vertical banding in dark content).

Can you explain how you got this offer? Did you simply call VIP line and complain about your set? I would love to just be able to exchange, let me know!

The 4k player is nice when it works...it's very finicky so far...the new update has helped at least with the g6, other users have still had issues...I'm keeping my eyes peeled for oppo to release their player this fall...fingers crossed it has DV

That's basically how it goes...they send a tech out to inspect your set, if it looks bad enough they'll take care of you

Mine looks okay during the day because it's in a somewhat well lit room, problems emerge when I'm watching at night, when it's darker in the room (still far from pitch black, but darker). Maybe I'll take pictures in case the TV isn't displaying the issues during the day when the tech is likely to come by.

My tech talked down the issue back in January, but I had taken some photos for LG just in case. I sent them along, and they took care of me. Not as well as some of you are who are getting a straight E6 exchange, but they are taking care nonetheless.

May I know what issues did you have on the EF9500 to make them replace it with G6?
did you go through EF9500 panel replacement first before new TV replacement or no panel replacement was attempted

Hi, how did you get the E6, what problems did you have with your EF9500 to make them send you replacement model E6 or G6?
did you go through pane replacement first before new TV replacement or no panel replacement was attempted

Vertical banding visible in low APL content...the single biggest problem with the EF9500 (I'll classify vignette as the 2nd).

I have severe vertical banding visible well beyond the 10% mark. Two large jailbars right in the center of the screen.

I reported it to LG 12 days ago, and was told I'd be offered a refund, which I planned to use to purchase a G6 or E6 from Cleveland Plasma.

They called me today and offered the exchange instead. No tech visited my home, no pan replacement, nothing. Just three images and my purchase receipt was enough.
