With the help of Dish Services, I was finally able to get my 77g6p mounted to my BDI arena mount/stand. Need the original LG77g6p mount to work. the 77g6p actually looks pretty cool mounted, the glass panel sticks out just a tad from the bar giving it a 3d effect. Plus the grayness of the soundbar is very dark, it kind of blends in.

I picked up the 77g6p mount from LG back in October 2018. One of these days. It's a work in progress. Have a very large entertainment wall that will have to be sold that accommodates the 77 now. It has served for a an 73 dlp, 80 sharp, 78 Samsung curve and now a 77 oled g6p. When the wall goes the master bedroom closet will become an equipment closet. Will open the living room up a lot. It will likely be done after all the ceilings are scraped and new floors go down from damage from hurricane Florence. Like I said a work in progress. Today was just another Saturday with a wake up call from the mechanic that my wifes car needs a new power steering pump and reservoir and orings. Just another drop in the bucket!.

I had mine mounted the week I got it, on a Sanus articulating mount, which accommodates 3D for any practical viewing angle.

Hey man I know you came from a plasma to 77g6p. Give me an idea, what motion settings to do you use? Do you use any trumotion or do you leave everything off?? Last week I tried that disable pixel shift trick that Tim posted some time ago, it actually worked!! I could swear it made a huge difference, then this week everything is back to the way it was before, maybe I do that trick again and unplug the TV and do that power button 3 times.. but just give me an idea what u use? I mostly use Roku ultra and appletv with plex 4k materials, and 1080p mkv

Thanks!

I just leave it off and use the on-board apps for streaming (I do have a Roku for YouPube). I believe pixel shift is enabled (haven't bothered with the trick, just haven't felt the need). Motion isn't perfect but I just tolerate it. Impossible to get total smoothness without a degree of SOE artifacts.

Never mind, I forgot that I switched from ISF dark to Cinema mode. Since I went back to ISF dark, the bluring and motion issues went away for my 1080p material. Phew.. after getting it mounted I didnt want to have any issues!

Don't know if my settings are the best, always struggled with motion. But...I ended up settling with "standard" mode...de-jutter "0"...de-blur "10". RC off. I did not try the pixel shift "off" suggestion either as I don't have access to my C6 at this time. And of course being a 2016 3D Oled, the best Oleds ever made, keeping it in perfect working order is job #1 .

This seemed to work best with movie discs, for me.

I started tinkering with the settings again, because I just couldn't get things the way I want it. I went to Standard mode.. boom.. every problem I had is gone. Its just like my plasma motion. I hope this is the last comment i make on the subject, but for right now Im satisfied. Cinema mode adding bluring, the ISF dark mode added soap opera effect.. Standard so far.. is well just Standard. Thank god I decided to try it. Now I am finally at peace and in love my 77g6p. No need for a new TV anytime soon.

Doesnt Standard by default have TruMotion set to smooth or clear?

I cant see any difference in motion if I set all pictures mode to RC off and TM off, or RC ON and TM off. The first produces 3:2 cadence with 24 hz and the second produces 5:5 cadence.

Yep, it's a very settle difference...I played with it back and forth for a year or so...for me a saw a slight improvement (for me) with it off.

finally got around to watching both:

The Meg

Ant-Man and the Wasp.

I thought both were enjoyable in full 3D and served up with Atmos for dessert.

Ant-Man was particularly immersive and I jumped a few more times than I would like to disclose during "The Meg".

Both viewed on 77 G6P Oled.

Coming soon and Anticipated

Mortal Engines
Aquaman
Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindlewald

In the past, people who have used the Korean version of the firmware still wound up with English menus. No guarantees, though - you could easily wind up with all Korean menus.

Also, there were some firmware versions where going back to an older version was either very difficult or else no longer possible, so be aware of that.

Unless you are certain that firmware version fixes some pressing problem you have with your set, I would wait, not update.

I installed the Korean version when it came out in August. No issues whatsoever. With that being said, I have not noticed anything different with the new FW. No better motion, etc.

Ok guys Im back. I think my problems have been pernamently solved. I think the thing that finally solved my motion issues is turning off quickstart. Does anyone have experience with that? I dont know if its just the quickstart, or combination of turning off quickstart and pixel shift. I was thinking of trying to turn on pixel shift again and see, but right now, the picture is pretty good.

Any comments?

If you use the built-in apps a lot, turning off Quickstart can help because each power cycle restores any leftover memory usage by those apps. Excess wasted memory can cause a variety of problems.

The pixel shift alters the geometry of the image a bit because pixels have to be reserved on all 4 sides to allow for the shifting of the image. This can produce some image artifacts due to the small percentage scaling of the image so it still fills the screen. Typically it wouldn't cause motion problems, but it might make motion glitches more visible.

Turn it on and see. I would rather have it on for safety if it does not make a noticeable change.

I've always had quick start disabled, as it saves on electricity and, as mentioned, keeps the memory cleared on every boot. I guess the downside is that it theoretically taxes the power supply harder.

I turned back on the pixel shift, I haven't noticed any issues just yet, I will keep experimenting, but right now all my motion issues are solved.. must be this quick start somehow. Maybe it was causing some background program to run like a malware and that effected processing?

Does anyone use Nvidia shield for media streaming on their E6? If so, do you find the PQ to be better than the internal apps like Vudu, netflix, Youtube tv? Thanks in advance!

Pretty unlikely. Maybe a 'refurb', although I always question those - no one really wants to say who did the refurbishing or what was done.

It's likely that somewhere in America, there's one sitting in a warehouse or garage or back bedroom in the original sealed box (there's always one of everything like that), but finding it is the problem.

It won’t be. The upscaler in the the shield tv is just about the worst I’ve ever encountered. It has got auto resolution switching for apps which support it but Netflix and YouTube don’t so any 1080p material will look poor.

There's a used one currently on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-SIGNATUR...n/303099411830

It's in Michigan, and local pickup only. Note that the current non-3D version is available new for less than a third of what this person is asking for this used one.
