Yeah I missed the train and I guess I'll be waiting longer for a c6. $500 jump in 1 day. Sucks. I hope there's some sales before stock runs out.

How sensitive are the panels of the B6?
Pressing the panel when holding it during moving or wall mounting can it damage the screen?

I moved mine around myself via grabbing the bottom and one of the sides, screen is still perfect.

So for those of you who've had these for a while, does the vignetting improve over time? I'm on my second panel, and it's a bit better than the first, I think, but it's got vignetting (black flames) on the right side. It doesn't happen a ton, but I do see it in content. It's the only fault I've seen with this TV, well, besides a tiny bit of black crush.

I've always wondered...does anybody know what technology the Magic remote utilizes? Obviously not IR since commands work when the remote isn't pointed at the set, and it even operates in a separate room. Assuming it's not Wi-Fi since I don't have my TV connected to my wireless network. Bluetooth perhaps? AFAIK, LG does not refer to it as a bluetooth remote anywhere in the manual or their website.

What issues do you have? I have a Harmony 700 (as well as a Harmony One) and they both work perfectly with the B6 and the Samsung 8500 UHD Bluray player.

I tried lowering green both high and low. Seemed ok that way. Real improvement came when I used rtings 2 point settings. They reduced green high and low, but added a bit of blue, and a minor amount of red. I think that makes sense. In nature green is not a 'primary' but equals blue+yellow, yellow being the primary. So when you reduce green, you are in effect also reducing blue hence, their calibration added a touch of blue back in. I also experience a bit of red push. I tried their CMS settings as well. They had a pretty drastic change in the Red tint setting in the Red CMS settings, +14. That seemed to over do it somewhat, with all faces looking very pasty white. I reset everything to default and reset contrast to 82 and brightness to 53, everything still looks great. I can only conclude my TV is closer out of the box on warm 2 than rtings B6 was. Today, I'll go back to the rtings 2 point grey scale but leave CMS alone.

In the future I'm going to have a calibration done or buy a meter and do it myself and take the guess work out of it.

Does anyone else have sky banding occasionally? Here's a sample from Grand Tour HDR ep. 7. Dithering is also on the amazon app background pattern.

From my experience vignetting really doesn't change with either compensation cycles or hours on the panel. Things like banding, DSE, stuck pixels may fix/improve but not vignetting. Unfortunately it seems nearly all panels have it to some degree unless you are very lucky.

I'll be attending CES this week and can't wait to check out the LG booth. I don't want to clog up the thread with non-2016 talk but if you want me to try to get any specific info from the reps there feel free to PM me and I'll do my best. Their booth is typically very crowded and you can't always get a reps attention. CNET etc coverage is typically pretty thorough but we are a picky bunch here.

I noticed it on Amazon app on my B6 but it was gone when I watched it on my Roku ultra.. Something's up with the Tvs built in app.

That is a bummer. It's not noticeable all the time, but it can be distracting. I don't even have to be looking at the right side of the screen. If I'm looking at the center of the screen, and it vignettes, I can see it in my peripheral vision.

For me, it was the network connection from the TV, so the Amazon app was downgrading the stream. When I switched to the app on my bluray player, that dithering disappeared. I checked the apparent network speeds using Speedtest in the browser on the TV and it was reporting incredibly slow speeds. But the bluray speedtest showed my correct high-speed wireless. Not sure why the connection from the TV was so slow. That cleared up after I restarted the TV. I don't know why, but the networking on the TV (at least on my set) appears to be kind of hit and miss. I have found that both wired and wireless connections can be spotty. I never have that issue with the streaming apps on my Samsug bluray player (or xbox or Apple TV, for that matter). Anyway, I think that dithering you see is from a downgraded stream.

I freaking love my C6! Granted, I'm not an expert, don't have my set calibrated, but coming from a Samsung plasma, I have never had such an awesome and nice looking panel. I fed it some regular blurays and a couple of uhd blurays and the pq is just mind blowing. I was hesitant before getting a curved display but I knew that I wanted to keep 3d capability and a slightly better processor than in the B6. The curve is really not an issue. Very subtle as compared to what samsung does. I just love my set!
Cheers!

Agreed it's very distracting for me too. The only real way to improve it is to lighten the screen with gamma 2.2 and/or adjust 5IRE luminance. Of course if you adjust too much it has negative impact on picture quality.

On mine it's only noticeable sometimes during fades to black between scenes and certain lighter monotone-ish scenes, and occasionally on dark scenes but I usually have to look closely for them.
Sometimes also see a large rectangular random grid pattern in similar circumstances.
From what I have seen in people's screenshots is unfortunately all the sets have these issues to some degree. Lack of screen uniformity also seems common. Everything else makes up for it!

I have had the Amazon app fail to give the proper UHD+HDR stream for Grand Tour a few times and after seeing similar issues noticed I was only getting HD version - restarting the Amazon app gave the UHD finally.

Thanks, I noticed a store display also had the banding issue (on wifi). I'll try an external device for streaming - it's too bad these tvs use only a fraction of the available bandwidth.

I got the hdr logo and could tell the colors were hdr. It's a speed issue possibly - will try a roku or something.

How to use the Magic Remote to control basic CEC devices.

I was just about to post and ask if anyone anyone had figured out how to get the Magic Remote for basic control of other HDMI CEC devices (D-pad, select, play, pause), but then I tried one more Universal Control setting, it it wored.

So here is how to get the Magic Remote to control CEC devices for basic commands -- in case anyone else finds it useful.

Hit the Input button and select All Inputs. Select the active input on the left and then choose "set up universal control" on the right. (Confirm the box, if prompted). Select "Show all devices" on the top right and then choose "other box" and follow along the rest of the prompts. Go back to the "All inputs" screen and edit the name and icon, as appropriate.

Now when I select my Apple TV or Oppo from the input list, I can navigate the menus and I have transport controls -- doesn't seem to work for the ChromeCast Ultra, though.

I discovered that last night. I don't believe it was that way at near zero hours but now as I approach 80 hrs I'm seeing this. This doesn't mean it wasn't originally there, just that I didn't notice it.

Since the screen shift red with use, will this even out in time?

I had a similar issue when using my HTPC (running KODI) as the source. You haven't mentioned how you have the B6's sound set. I found that I had to have it set for HDMI/Optical (obviously) and then have it set for "Auto" in order to insure a 5.1 signal.

"Red shift"?

Severely? Or just a touch?
