The guy who posted above most definitely has the defect. Just trying to help inform other buyers new to OLED. People who say this stuff isn't visible in actual content are just plain wrong.

Based on your two panel b6 experience ? Until.you come to my house and view my set its all just assumption on your part. I am.sorry for your bad experience but many of us are happy with our sets. The right thing to do is to move on. Beating the same drum incessantly is whining imo.

I didn't say all panels have vignetting, but from what I've read (and believe me, I've read a lot) many do, especially the 65" ones. Mine wasn't even a severe case, and I saw it in movies, during commercials, during loading screens—and I wasn't even trying. Yours could very well be near perfect. If so, congrats because you're in a minority. I'm just saying that if this stuff is visible to the extent people are showing with slides, it will be seen in content. I'll stop whining when LG fixes their $8000 TVs.

I would have returned that. Mine, which has a very slightly brighter sides and a very hard to see vertical line, looks perfect compared to yours.

I guess this is the thread I should be posting in as I bought a C6 yesterday. There are so many 2016 OLED thread!

Any truth to b6 and c6 having different motion characteristics than the e6/g6?

I reconnected the Roku, no issue with power on now (???). But switching from an app on the TV back to HDMI 2 changes my AV input from TV to Roku. It should stay on TV which was the normal behavior with my old LG, I then need to switch my AV from TV to cable. Guess a switch is needed anyway but optimally I would like it to default to the cable rather than Roku.

Signed,

On your AV see if there is a setting that will force the HDMI input to use when the unit is turned on. Often the default setting is to use "the last HDMI as input".

The only way to nail it is to calibrate the set with a good meter.

Do you happen to be using an ID3 or colormunki? If so, were you able to get a profile or find a preset that you felt provided you with something to accurately measure these sets?

Fox, and I believe ESPN, use 720P. CBS and NBC use 1080i. The NFL on CBS and NBC is superior to FOX. I get everything with OTA. My local Fox station uses 4 sub channels. If the conditions are right I get another Fox station that uses only 3 sub channels. I can see a noticeable difference in picture quality from the second FOX channel.

Do you guys have a suggestion for a good Digital Antenna for OTA?

I tried using my i1D3, but would not rely on it for these TVs unless you get it specially profiled. I don't think any of the presets are accurate, unfortunately.

I was hoping that with OLED being out in the wild enough that there was a more generalized profile we could at least work from.

I went with a Channel Master STEALTHtenna because all of the transmission towers were within 5 degrees of each other in my area. Are you looking for an indoor or outdoor antenna? Are all of the transmission sources coming from the same general direction? you can go on the Channel Master website (and several other websites) and type your address into their calculator which will provide you with some suggested antennas. Hope this helped

I bought this one and aside from having to move it a little from time to time for tuning it works perfectly. And retro looks!

Please don't come here only to convince others to be unhappy with their sets too. I do see the defects you complain about from time to time, but I really have to look and at that point I would be trying to make myself unhappy which is pointless since everything else about this set is so great.

I didn't pay anywhere near $8k for my 65b6, and in fact it was exactly half as much as I paid for a 70" Samsung DLP 10 years ago, and that DLP had the rainbow effect for all 10 years! (plus 2 loud fans and a louder colorwheel)

I feel I got a bargain on this incredible set and the defects are just growing pains with this new technology only to get better. This is my first LG product (I think they used to be Goldstar) and overall I am impressed. (knock on wood)

The EF9500, with 60hz, basically has more double imaging with deblur on and dejudder 0. You need to add DJ 1 or 2 to fix that, and then all is well, the problem then is it still has some odd stutters here or there on 60hz content. The Only solution I have found is leaving TM off for 60hz, and then I can use it just fine for 24hz. Im hoping the E6 behaves a little better.

Yeah. I noticed your slide photos a bit earlier. Some people will tell you it's "within specification" or "normal variation". Personally, I feel for the price of these TVs, it's a defect, or a flaw at the very least. No displays are perfect (yet), so it all comes down to what you can live with. If you don't see any issues with real content, I wouldn't worry about it. I had similar issues with mine, so I returned them. Every time I'd see it pop up in a movie or show, I was reminded that I dropped over three grand for the thing.

As long as you're happy, that's all that matters I don't get new TVs every year, so after seeing the way mine performed, it's something I couldn't live with, no matter how good the picture looked the other 90% of the time. I paid $3K plus tax for the B6. Sorry, but I refuse to reward LG by laying out that kind of cash when they have such crappy QC. The 2015s are even worse. To even release that quality of panel is despicable, IMO.

The way you feel about vignetting talk is the way I feel about the non stop motion talk and the calibration of your tv. Some care, most don't. I think it's fair to say this is a place to come and talk about all things positive and negative where new members jump in and out and the same discussions come up often. We should just let people discuss what are problems to them. We all spent money on the same set and see/care about different things. Nothing wrong with that. If certain things drone on forever usually best to take on PM.

Not vignetting talk I realize some have issues not diminishing that.Really directed to one poster in particular with an agenda. No offense intended to you.

I returned a Panasonic and a Sony in 2015 in neither case did I incessantly post about the reasons for my return. I just moved on like most normal.people do.

Still have firmware 4 30 15 on my 55c6, have they released the newer firmwares through the TV or do I need to download to a USB stick? My TV says my firmware is up to date.

Had the same thing in the EF9500 thread. People moved on to "bigger and better" after returning their terrible OLED 15 times, and would just pop in to tell us how bad our displays were. Kinda gets annoying, a little...
