Question for anyone that uses the included stand for the 65" B6:

1. Can you measure how far the stand protrudes from the front of the TV?
2. How thick is the TV at the top?

You ever get an answer to this? Is game mode just a matter of turning on the Game preset? Thanks.

No answer yet. I'll have an answer in within week if I get the set and no one answers.

On the other hand, several of the daylight scenes have looked incredible. For example, the scene in this week's episode where he's getting stitched up by the American and the camera is looking down on him. You can almost count the individual whiskers in his beard.
I can also be the source material.... don't forget about that option.

HDR Game Mode?

Hi guys. Just poking around the internet and found this page (http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/lg-hd...1612014385.htm) clearly showing an HDR Game mode. I do not have this on my B6 but it's clearly shown in the screenshot there. Do you guys with B6's have this after the .77 update? Thanks. Still not sure really how to enable the lowest latency game mode unless that's just changing to "Game" Picture Mode.

I originally had it set to auto but then switched to high. I can't tell that it hurts anything (didn't seem to blunt detail) but it does seem to reduce noise, at least sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't seem to do anything.

Optimal picture/color settings and black crush

Apologies if this has been answered before, but does anybody have any good links for optimal picture settings? Also, I notice with by B6 that there is some black crush. What is the best way to try and get rid of the black crushing to the extent possible?

I think all this brightness mumbo jumbo is competitors trying to find anything/angle they can to try and narrow the gap b/t display technologies.

Non-OLED manufacturers be like: You're car can go 250MPH? Well OUR car can go 325MPH.

...pay no attention to the fact that you will never have a need to go over 200MPH...much less 300+.
I turn my Oled Light to 75 in HDR mode sometimes

The difference I see is in HDR while watching "The Man in the High Castle". The x930D popped a little more (lets say 9.5/10), the OLED pops too (lets say 9/10). Still beautiful. But get to the dark scenes and the x930D for me scores a 6.5/10 compared to the OLED at 9/10. My x930D had some serious clouding and it would show through space or peoples dark clothing sometimes. The OLED, I just adjusted settings so as to reduce the darks merging into other darks and voila...very good picture.

Finally, the OLED upscales much better than the x930D in my opinion. I use ps vue to watch cable and its night and day OLED vs x930D. Its just crispier for me. All this without the soap opera effects.
How do you go about adjusting your settings to make darks merge into other darks?

Only the US firmware for HDR game mode has been released thus far.

Surprised no one is talking about the purple anti-reflective screen

Hi all-

Generally loving my new B6, but I'm honestly surprised that no one is really making any mention of the purple tint on the screen from the anti-reflective film.

With all lights off in a 100% dark room, of course it's not noticeable, but during the day or with any lights on... blacks aren't really black, they're purple.

I've read hundreds of posts on every site I could find, and aside from maybe two other people, no one seems to mind or even has mentioned this.

Does everyone here watch their B6 in pitch darkness, or is this just something that everyone has either gotten over or accepted because of the all of the other wonderful things about this set?

I've got a nice, bright living room but mostly watch TV at night, with maybe one light on. I watch everything from Frasier reruns to 4K Amazon feeds.

I'd love to hear your opinions.

Thanks!

-Ian

I have no dirty screen effect or banding on pan shots. For what it's worth my Kuro 6020 had a bad case of dirty screen effect on pan shots. My ZT60 has a very slight case of it. The ZT60 also has some slight tint uniformity issues on light grey and whites. So we still await a perfectly uniform screen. 😉
Hi there-

I've had no issues with greys so far, but when I see a lot of white, the set looks a bit pink. I've looked at full white slides, and in those moments, I can't see any pink... but other times, I'm sure I see it.

That is the only "game mode" I have seen. That is how I have it set. When you switch to game mode Trumotion is grayed out. I think it shuts off most other "enhancements".

I only see that pink (it looks pink to me not purple) anti-glare when there is a direct reflection on the screen. It doesn't happen very often.

yes. I set it to game and then changed the name to "XBOX"

I am still not 100% sure if that is all you are supposed to do though because "game mode" exists on all inputs whether I changed the name to game or not.

Well so far it seems third times the charm. I've exchanged that B6 with spots for another one and this one is great with nothing like that on the screen. I've forgotten how good OLED can look and how bad it makes edge lit LED look! I also gotta love that my family that has seen it running immediately noticed a difference and say it's the best picture they have seen yet, and that was on compressed garbage cable content!

I'm assuming this is vignetting? I'm still under my return period. Should I try another unit.

Vignetting is darkened edges , i see some banding but that should clear up as the set ages.
