Highly recommend this adjustable TV stand. I use it so that I can have my MartinLogan Motion 30 directly under the TV and it works really well. amzn dot to slash 2pl8aV0

On my avr I have to put the avr on tv/cd to use arc. So I switch to hdmi 2 on the tv and then say "game" input on the avr to play game that's routed through the avr.

Then if I go back to hdmi 1 on tv, I have to click "tv/cd" input on the avr to enable the arc.

I'd guess your avr is similar. It should be in the manual.

But once I enabled arc power control and stuff I think it changes to tv/cd automatically. But doesn't change to another input when going to hdmi 2 on the tv.

Yep... WB adjustments are possible... (at least they are per the Service Manual and the factory service remote)

I discovered Logitech updated the Harmony software and the new software no longer has that functionality, so gave up on that option. Next was the Anroid app (which has been reported by some members to work with some functionality). I found it cumbersome but even more-so I was worried about touching the screen in the wrong place at the wrong time and changing something unintentionally. That left me looking at the "special remote" (i.e. Factory Service Remote)

As reported earlier I found them on eBay... but I didn't buy one at that time because the seller showed over 691 available for sale! A couple weeks ago I downloaded the OLED TV Service Manual for the OLED55B6P and OLED65B6P. Full color with photos and diagrams. Very informative.

I figured I'd better download it now while its available just in case I need it a couple years down the road for trouble shooting. Anyway... I was perusing the manual and noticed multiple instances where you are instructed to use the service remote to check something and/or perform an adjustment. So... I decided to buy the factory service remote (around 33 bucks) because I figured... it along with the free downloaded service manual... was cheap insurance against future problem determination if needed. Imagine my surprise when I discovered he had sold all 691 of them None Left!

Since then, I've been watching the seller for a month or so and finally (luckily) the seller got some back in stock. 179 to be exact. I panicked and snatched one up. (now even that qty is almost gone... sheesh) It should be here the first of next week... I'll let you know if it works with my 65B6P. FYI: I don't plan on getting brave and/or making deep changes... just want it as a form of insurance if needed.)

Is there not a built in YT app? I don't see one installed, nor can I find in App Store.

Absolutely not. There have been no tests done by a third party company on 5 TV's from each month to say one month is producing better units over another.....why do 5 TV's need to be tested? Unit variation......

Considering my unit is basically 100% band free which I would have thought even 6 months ago was an impossibility on OLEDs (or even more recently with the vaunted Sony Oled having reports of banding), I'll most likely stick with what I got. Especially given the price (~$1100)
These are my 5% and 3% slides at 100 OLED light, contrast, and 51 Brightness (I usually keep OLED at either 70ish for daytime or 35ish for nighttime, contrast between 78-85, and brightness at 50-51, so actual viewing will show less banding/reverse vignette than what you see here).

Edit: hour count is 178 and runs regular comp cycles frequently. Have ran 2 or 3 manual ones.

All-in-all, pretty good for the price I paid, I reckon (agree/disagree?). Not sure a $400 calibration is worth it on an $1,100 set, especially when a 65 inch is in my (hopefully) near future once they completely iron out the backplane uniformity issues (or make it perceptibly as good as plasma)

Can someone please share with me what these lines are? They're not always visible. Mostly when the picture is panned up to the sky or sun, no matter the picture mode, HDR included.

Just to add to my top post. I've used the AVForm picture settings. The picture I included is MLB The Show 17, and anytime I hit a home run it's really visible when panning to the sky.

Trouble is that we don't know which gamma was used in mastering. Modern productions should all be bt1886, but I'm not sure they always are (The People vs OJ Simpson for example, is seriously oversaturated and somewhat lacking in shadow detail using bt1886, but much more watchable with 2.2). And with older productions (or older movie transfers) we should assume that a gamma of 2.2 was used. So we have to trust our eyes, and be prepared to change gamma accordingly.

I keep bt1886 as the standard, and change to 2.2 when it doesn't look right.

Yeah I agree with what you are saying but I don't have 2 calibrated modes for different gamma to switch back and forth so so just stick with my calibrated mode.

I play the show a ton also, and I see banding as well. I believe it's the game and not the set because I don't see it on other games. Change the output resolution on your ps4 to yuv420 from auto, clears it up a lot.

I measured 2 1/4 inches on my 55B6. You could wall mount, build a 1" riser, or maybe use some old phone books.

I finally tried out BT. 1886, and I'm not going back to anything else.

I tested out darker, older films like 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner' on Blu-Ray, and was absolutely floored.

Then I tested out the Criterion edition of 'Pan's Labyrinth', which always had a sort of "washed out" blacks regardless of which set I watched it on, and it looks significantly punchier than any other time I've watched it.

I'm watching the blu-ray for the first season of 'True Detective' right now, and the colors and contrasts feel noticeably deeper.

Glad I saw a discussion on here in regards to gamma. I was using 2.2 for the time being, but found BT. 1886 to give the video quality a much more sense of depth.

So everyone using BT 1886, how much crush are you getting? I'm using 2.2, and I agree 1886 looks great, but I seem to be losing black detail. Are you guys pumping up the brightness a little or some other setting?

Chad B to the SF Bay area? I'm afraid not... errr... unless you make him an offer too good to refuse (including air fare to and from his nearest point of departure... or you get a group of your AV friends together who all want calibrations) Per Chad B's tour schedule from his website... he doesn't make it that far west.

However... don't despair... Gregg Loewen of Lion Audio/Video Consultants tours doing calibrations in your neck of the woods.
Back in November another AVS member... ( john fusco) took advantage of Gregg's expertise as mentioned here > in this < AVS forum thread.

I am using BT. 1886 as well, I love it, I think it is perfect for Oled, especially in the dark..
2.2 look washed out for me..
For me those LG 2016 give a perfect picture, there may be few black crush there and there..but man the more I am watching content the more I am loving my LG C6!!!
That TV is just amazing... ESPECIALLY when you give good content in Dolby Vision, or something, with no grain.. but it is rare to find
However 1080p movies still look very very good for me on LG C6... better than any LCD I have ever seen

I tried to set the colors today with the THX Calibration app. Whats really strange is that when I went to calibrate the tint in order to make it match the background color of the filter it pushes the green to 18 which is weird I thought. I have never had this happen before, usually its within a few clicks either side of 0.

So not sure whats up. Anyone else have this happen by chance? I am in Cinema mode and warm 1 or 2 I believe.

What gamma curve value does 1886 try to approximate?

I agree it looked good and deep but it did have a lot of black crush and loss of dark detail.

it should match a flat 2.4 on an oled , that looks unnatural imo. my gamma is 2.35 with a tail at the lower ires.

Apparently I am not the only one saying 1080p look amazing on the 2016 oleds, I saw many impressions and reviews on other sites.
I wonder why some people were complaining about LG upscaling.
I don't have any problem with the TV so far.
When I compare it to my LCD JU7100, the PQ is wayyyy better, better os, better settings, better menu, even better motion.. I remember when it was fast moving scenes I wouldn't see anything on my JU7100, but on my LG C6 I see every movement! And it is very good for martial arts movies!! I was watching Crouching Tiger uhd hdr yesterday, and it was amazing! Only complain is the grain but it is the director choice and it is still a 2000 movie.. And sometimes I could see the ABL or ASBL kick in in prolonged dark scenes. I probably need to buy the Android app for service menu..
But overall, again a movie I loved to watch again, but on my LG C6
I need to rewatch all my martial art movies.. I wonder how good they will look.. Especially the old shaw Brothers collection..
And the raid 2 is next, my favorite one.

1080p looks good but below that....some 700p thrash like some channels are here, it looks a bit...well not so sharp but i rarely watch those channels.
