But...

It has 8584 hours on it!

Yikes! I'd return that quick smart. That's a lot of hours and you'll never get rid of the yellow tint. I'd be telling Best Buy there's only 168 hours in a week, not 8584!

So I decided to upgrade to a 65" C6 from the 55". It came today, and looks pretty good so far. There is some vignetting on slides, but it doesn't seem as noticeable as the 65" B6 I had in the past. When I look at a full screen pattern at 5%, the screen is very uneven. A large portion of the left half is almost black, and the right side is closer to the proper brightness for a 5% slide. I'm really hoping this is just because it's brand new and needs some hours on it.

Otherwise, the size increase is very noticeable and worth it, IMO.

Just doing a quick and dirty cal for now, but what I'm seeing so far is that it's consistent with my 55" C6—too green.

I'm curious about this. I've currently disabled updates as I don't want the dim HDR game mode, but I'm interested to hear what they have changed about Amazon HDR.

Yep, LG said there's nothing they can do since it is Best Buy's fault.

Here's the red screen for ya:

I had more detailed notes of how to downgrade written up last night but AVS crashed and I lost my post at 1am so if anyone is interested, I'll write them up again tonight. Again this is just a modification of @Merlyn_3D method since as written, it doesnt quite work for our model.
I'm interested on trying the new update but I've been waiting to find a way to revert to 04.31.00 in case I encounter some issues with 05.30.02, could you share your method to downgrade it please? also I have an E6, do you think it would be possible to downgrade that model?. Thanks in advance.

How is that even possible? Having the unit on 24 hours a day works out to 357.66666666 days. Almost sounds like a demo unit instead of a return.

I just downgraded my C6. As long as you have the 04.31.00 firmware file for your model, downgrading is possible with the Russian software linked to in various threads. I had to use the "local" rollback method.

Because they are totally clueless and/or lied to my face.

Yep. Absolutely a 24/7 demo unit running in Vivid mode with a demo loop for a year!

Just like we though.

It was a store demo that played the same stuff for 8k hours and that created massive burn in.

Go to Best buy and return it, maybe they have another one. If not... You're out of luck.

Can anyone with the updated US firmware confirm whether HDR game mode is plagued with an abnormal dim level?

Yes, it's horrible and feels almost like a glitch. I had to make a few changes to make it decent as there's no way that's how HDR is represented in game mode even if playing in the dark. For now I made a few changes.

Dynamic Contrast off to medium
Color Gamut normal to wide - due to increase of dynamic contrast it made the colors a bit washed out.
Color Settings 60

LG C9 & UB9000
LG C8 & UB820
Denon AVR, SVS Prime Elevation & Ultra Series, HSU Subwoofer, Emotiva

Just a quick note on a surprising feature:

Setup:
PS4Pro connected to LG SJ9 Atmos soundbar via HDMI which is connected to my LG B6 via HDMI ARC.

Feature:
I can Play/Pause/Fast Forward/Rewind a playing BluRay with the LG TV's magic remote using the center wheel and surrounding circle button.

Nice.

Also, does anyone know if the LG B7's magic remote will work with the B6? I like the idea of the dedicated Netflix/Amazon buttons.

Thanks! Just 10" more doesn't sound like a ton more screen, but I guess that's since they measure diagonally. The 65" really is a great size for my seating distance of about 8 feet.

Just be aware, for 3D on the C6 you will need to be more like 12' away. Otherwise you will get crazy amounts of cross-talk.

Huh? I have a 65c6 and sit 7-8' away and I've never noticed any crosstalk whatsoever...

As long as the TV is aimed at eye level there should be no issues with 3d.

Hrmm, I was having a trouble with cross talk and searched everywhere to find that s lot of people were also having the same issue. I finally tried to move my couch further back following someone's advice and the 3D picture was suddenly crystal clear.
I have a 55c6 btw.

That would be nice but I don't expect LG to upgrade our B6s (or any of the 2016 OLEDs) to WebOS 3.5, which is one of the few upgrades that the 2017 models offers over ours. But we can hope. I'll be happy just to see more apps become available for WebOS 3.0.

That said, I'm very happy to see LG upgrade our 2016s to support HLG HDR, which is included in the new firmware rolling out for the C6 and E6.

Packed up and ready to return to the store tomorrow. They have no more except the other one there that they admitted was burned.

Mental note: Only shop at BB for new, factory sealed merchandise. Anything else is way over their heads.

Not out of luck! I found a new 55C6P with no tax and free shipping for less than I paid for that piece of junk. Please tell me that seller five-star-buy is OK. Seems to be similar to ielectrica but he is lower right now. Has excellent feedback.

BB has a sticker on the open box unit with date on it, any open box tv you need to buy make sure you check it at store, I have some bad luck with open box items from BB, I never bought open box tv, I always check item and many times items missing from box, so their label is very useless, the amount of money you save is usually not worth the chance to take specially on TV.
