Try a different optical cable. I have had similar problems with different sources and I changed the cable and the problems went away.

The US and UK B6 models have completely different firmware version history.

Someone over at AV forum contacted LG about the HDR game mode and got a response from them. I only screen can't make small portion of it and cut out their name.

Is Netflix HDR/ Dolby Vision working for you guys? I can't get B6P to play any Netflix content in Dolby Vision. It just plays in regular SDR. I tried multiple titles, logged out, uninstalled the app, reset the TV. Amazon works just fine.

Is someone else experiencing this issue? I'm playing straight through the WebOS app.

Yes, same for me. I tried the Vudu ap on my C6 and the Dolby Vision works fine. It is either something with Netflix/Dolby Vision, OR, something with the new update. When I turned my tv on this evening, it said "your tv has been updated" It was set on automatic updates, so now it shows my software version is 5.30.02 (It was 4.30.15 last night)

so, this 5.30.02 update messed up Dolby Vision on the netflix ap? The Dolby vision indication window does not shows up on any netflix dolby vision content. If I switch to Vudu and try a DV movie, the dolby vision notification works fine!

I am playing straight through the webOs app as well.

Anyone else? I am guessing it is due to the update, but, don't know how to fix this....

I tried the same titles. Same results.. Just tried Sandy Wexler (DV title on Netflix)

I clicked picture mode and it says "Cinema User" - even though it was playing a Netflix Dolby Vision title (it used to say Dolby Vision -bright on all the netflix DV titles as recently as last night)

I clicked picture mode on an Amazon HDR title and it said HDR picture mode
I clicked picture mode on a Vudu Dolby Vision title and it said "Dolby Vision - bright"

so, for some reason, Netflix is not triggering Dolby Vision on the LG OLED after the new update!!!!!!

Strange. I'm on the B6 so there was no update for me. HOWEVER there was a Netflix app update yesterday. My guess is that's what broke it.

2016 LG C6-B6 owners thread

I am on 4.31.20 on my B6 and I am not getting Dolby Vision on Netflix either. Didn't write down the Netflix version but it's only been recent hat DV hasn't been working. However Netflix has been giving fits on my LG app recently.

I think the last version I was on was 4.30.20 if I'm not mistaken. I have it set to auto update...

Sony A1E user here. I noticed tonight that HDR10 wasn't playing back in HDR mode on my set. Since you guys are having problems on LG/WebOS, I'm going to guess it's an issue on Netflix's end.

Since my Sony is exhibiting the same behavior (HDR10 broken in Netflix), I wouldn't worry. Probably a server-side issue. Go to bed and check again tomorrow .

I faced the same issue a few months back....this was a weird one. Spent 2 days checking all the settings and troubleshooting by google.
In the end - i checked the wires and the wire to the soundbar was loose which led to leakage of the signal. As weird as it sounds - this was the issue and the fix is just remove the wiring and put it back.
2 minutes job!!

I believe the 2017 models have a Dolby Vision Game mode. So they see some worth in it. I think Mass Effect supports Dolby Vision but that's just for PC. No game consoles as of right now support Dolby Vision.

Just checked with Okja, my C6 still has DV. WHen starting the movie the DV logo pops up and during playback if go to settings i see DV HDR - i keep it on bright..

I don't get how it could be hardware because they're actually taking a signal and instead of passing it unmodified, downconverting it. They should simply need to disable the downconversion and pass the signal unmolested.

I think we just need to keep complaining to them so they know customers care about this.
