Did you download the new firmware from the Korean site or the us site?

From what I can see, there is a very slight difference. Take a look and the shadow detail of the warriors's nose. The light around the nose are more blown reducing detail in firmware 4.30.95.
Also, if you look at Evan (the short blond hair boy) the skin tone of his face looks more natural and less bright than in 4.30.95.
I just updated to the beta firmware and the bright highlights in HDR gamemode are not as bright as 4.30.95 but the delails in the highlights are better retained. Very subtile changes from the photos above but I can say it is more noticible in real life usage. Over all, I like the look of the new beta firmware in game mode.
See signature for TV details.

I think they redid the HDR game mode settings and not just revert back to the older brighter settings.

Unfortunately, I have no way to check until my friend comes back from his vacation (another couple of weeks).

I do like the HDR Game mode now and do think they did some new tweaking to it...

I wonder if that makes a difference, I doubt it does but you never know with LG. I downloaded the firmware from the Korean site and do experience very slight black glow.

Yeah those pictures don't do it justice to the actual change in brightness. it's night and day different and those comparison literally look the same, maybe a slight difference. The difference between the "dimmer" version from last summer to now is drastic.

I did with 5.30.03 and I rolled back. It wasn’t blatant for me though. Barely noticeable, so I went ahead and rolled back. So essentially I skipped 5.30.03 and went straight to 5.30.25.

Hey! My B6 just got firmware 5.30.25 automatically downloaded (I'm in Florida, US version of TV).

Doubly interesting, I just checked the LG support site, and it still lists 5.30.03 as the latest version.

Unlikely, but it wouldn't be all that useful anyway unless they significantly changed the way HDR10 was tonemapped on these sets. The benefit of DV would be practically nonexistent if it used the same tonemapping as HDR10 does on these sets. It's not the dynamic metadata on its own that makes DV look good, it's Dolby's really good tonemapping combined with that metadata that does the magic. Heck, Dolby's tonemapping on static metadata would still look worlds better than HDR10 does on these sets.

If they are rolling it out that fast I would have to guess it's the same as the beta. It took them almost a year to develop it, can't imagine they made meaningful changes in a couple of days.

Just wondering since it is basically a software fix and my C6 in theory should be able to handle HDR 10+.

Actually wouldn't it need HDMI 2.1 to handle it? Regardless like I said it's not going to change much without significantly changing their tonemapping software.

I have the 'beta' on a USB drive; however, I've decided to wait and see it there is an online update through the TV and not do it, manually....just being cautious since I love my C6 and don't want to screw it up.

Every new 3D movie I get from amazon.uk (like Coco) reminds me how fortunate I am to have this unit.

Has anyone had luck with downgrading lately?

Model: B6

I am on beta (50.40.03) and haven't had any luck going back. The update gets to about 3% before it fails with the "There was a problem with this update..." error message. I've attempted the the downgrade using the OLED55-65B6-Downgrade on GitHub without success, and even tried using the latest 50.30.25 file with a modified HE_DTV_W16K_AFADATAA file.

Hello First time post long time viewer

I have a B6 since October of 2016. Last week the screen went black on me. No Video or Audio. Had the LG technician come out and replaced all three boards to no avail.
It was determined that the display was the problem and would need to be replaced.

1-Questions I have has anyone had a this issue?
2- Is there any market for the three boards that are in the TV that were deemed all working?
3- Is it worth fixing for $1500 plus? Can get the B7 now for around $2300?

Thanks in advance

5.30.25 is the last official for B6/C6 with 5.30.30 being the beta & most likley final version number for it when it releases.

Don't know where 5.40.03 came from.

Not a 100% but I believe 50.40.03 came from having NSU set to Engineering Mode in the Service Menu.
