For what it's worth, I'm not having any issues with the C61K and sports. Note that my C61K is connected to an Emotiva XMC-1, which is connected to the TV. I've had to try a few different cables to ensure the 4K works. I've had the best luck with the "peppermint" HDMI cables from Amazon (white with a red diagonal "stripe" and the Belkin that Apple recommends for Apple TV.

Other "certified" "high speed" cables (even with the hologram) were hit or miss.

I blame Hollywood for their damn copy protection schemes.

^I have everything connected through a Marantz 8802A.

I also have an Oppo UDP 205 & ATV 4K using the same HDMI cable as the C61K. I have no issues with those other devices.

You did not say if you are connected with WiFi or ethernet. I use an ethernet connection through an 8-port 1 GHz switch on my C6 and have never seen this message. If you are using ethernet, you might have a bad cable, router or switch, however you are connected. If you are using Wifi, do you have a cable on the LG's ethernet port? If so, it could be picking up interference that fools the set into thinking there is a connection, but cannot sync.

My B6P (and EF9500) are connected via Ethernet. Once in a blue moon I might see the message that tider is seeing as soon as I power on my HT system. Immediately after powering on, the "LAN cable connected" appears.

I never thought anything of it really. As I said, it doesn't happen to me enough to be a nuisance. I thought maybe it was because the B6P, being powered down, not detecting any LAN connection.

Both my displays are on the wall and ALL of my wiring is 50' with my AV rack in a closet so I'll live with it...

Put your cursor in the upper left hand corner of the screen and press the wheel.

Perhaps I misremembered.

Some receivers will tell you frame rate if you look in the settings while on a source, that's what I use myself. But if course that's not helpful if plugged directly into the TV.

I’m connected to WiFi. I’ll check to see. It’s been giving me this message for so long , beginning to think it’s unfixable. .
Thanks.

I've heald off updating my C6 of the newest(?) firmware update 05.30.60

Is everything fine with it? Or should I continue to hold off?

Edit- basically I remember hearing bad things about this update for B6 owners... but wasn't sure about C6 owners.

Did you download 5.30.75 from the South Korean LG website or was it pushed OTA to your B6?

Thanks for following up. Jealous you don't have the glow! I'm too wimpy to try the 5.30.75 firmware. Managed to roll back to v4 and thinking I should stay there. Would love to not have to skip the update message every time I turn on the TV though!!!

Skipping the update message is easy:
Just block the following two URLs in your Router (how to do that depends on the router - in mine there was a section Website blocking that did the trick):
su.lge.com
snu.lge.com
and after you do no more pesky update messages that someone might say 'yes' to when you are not looking.

Im on V4 the above should work to block the message, I don't have my B6 connected to the internet at all now as I use an AppleTV box for all my streaming.
I would also love to try the very latest firmware but can't be arsed to rollback again if black glow is still there.

How long has 5.30.75 been out, wonder if that's coming to other regions?

Now why would they do that? Knowing LG they added sth. to the teletext or something....its absolutely hopeless. Plus I think the problem is there for at least 2 years...
And the comments about not having the issue wont help anyone. COULD be legit or could be you dont see it. No more discussion in that direction necessary.

Please clarify:

You never had the glow issue on your B6 so 5.30.75 did nothing to do with fixing the glow for you?

Is there anything different you noticed on your B6 after loading 5.30.75?

I'd appreciate the info for my B6.

There are no risks so far with C6 firmware. I always wait for OTA anyway so I'd usually find out about any issues before it gets pushed to my TV anyway (such as what happened with HDR Game mode before that was "fixed")

I have a LG OLED B6. By the 3 minute mark of this 8K video the video part starts stuttering very badly. Audio is unaffected but video frames only change every 5 seconds or so.

Could you check if your 4K TV has the same issue?
