I plan on getting a 65C6P and since we already have owners of the 55C6P I figured an owners thread is due.

Especially curios about panel uniformity, near black issues, content playback for UHD HDR Bluray, 3D, etc.

Hi all,

I have an OLED65B6P and I stupidly started changing around settings in the In-Start ("hidden" service menu) and now I don't know the defaults... Even when the TV is reset to initial settings, these settings stick and won't reset. I am looking for someone to reply that has the same exact TV (OLED65B6P) and can go into the menu and tell me the defaults please.

Specifically, I am looking for the setting:
13. OLED - Module HDR - This will have 3 options: On, Normal, Off. Can someone please take a look at their TV and let me know what theirs is set to by default? I think it was set to "On", but the way it handles the brightness of non-HDR content when set to "On" makes me think it should be set to "Normal".

Anyone that can take a quick look and let me know, it would be greatly appreciated. You can get into this menu using a special remote, an app on the phone or PC, or a harmony remote. Again, this is the In-Start menu (password 0413), 13. OLED - Module HDR.

Thanks in advance!!!

Ok so it worked...you used this lg wireless sync method to hook them up? I just remember another bug...when i hooked up soundbar with lg wireless sound sync game mode was unavailable..great. If that's the case with headphones also can't use it for gaming. Tv that costs this much should not have such bugs in os.
Yes, I set the QC35 for pairing (and cut off bluetooth on my phone so they wouldn't pair to that). As I said in my post it came up a weird name 'raptor' so I selected it and it paired. had to fuddle with the volume control on the phones and tv to get it to around 20-30 on the tv as listenable.

For the most part I'll use my Senns and headphone amp with extension cord, a lot less trouble and better sound quality.

Hi everyone,
Not sure how helpful this is to anyone, but, I upgraded my 55C6 yesterday from the Korea LG firmware released there. Was on 40.30.95. And upgraded to 40.31.00 with no problems. Firmware applicable only to 55/65 versions of E & C series. Motion improved, no PS4 Pro handshake issues thus far, and Improved image in HDR, and game mode HDR. YMMV My build date is Oct 2016 55C

Thanks, I was very tempted and lately got tired of the PS4 handshake still persist even though we thought it was fixed since last firmware.

Not going to install any firmware version that is not listed in my area update site...i can wait few weeks.
LOL for USA folks and just looking at time frame once out in Korea it takes almost 1 month before we get ours.

Damn, I got the European model...
I am sure they will take forever to upgrade it
I'm sure it will and not sure if it's country location or LG is simply slow.

Oops I meant one file has an "N" after the model number......by chance anybody no what the letter N stands for.

Here's the 2 diff files

OLED55E6K-N and OLED55E6K

I'm moving this to E6 thread since there's talk about this over there now.

Guys, i was thinking about getting an SSD to move video files arround and also play them on my B6. But i tried with a couple of mechanical HDDs and the B6 was unable to read any of them, so now im considering a flash drive.

So, bottom line, has anyone used any particular SSD or Flash Drive model of at least 64gbs for this that you could recommend?

Like Quebeckere ... when it comes to moving (or even playing) movie videos I've also used relatively large USB drives 32 and 64GB formatted NTFS. Personally I've never tried a HDD but have tried several SSD's with no issue. In fact, I now use a 500GB SSD drive exclusively with absolutely no problems. (It's a SSD drive I took out of a old laptop.) To connect it to the TV I use this adapter cable by Startech. IMPORTANT: Before plugging a drive into your TV... be sure to get it working on your computer first! (i.e., create partition if needed, make sure its set as a primary drive and the partition is active and is the drive is formatted NTFS... etc) If your computer can read and write to it... then your TV will have no problem recognizing it.

Just FYI: Windows 7/10 can be a little fussy recognizing a new SATA SSD drive especially when its attached via a USB adapter cable or if its never been installed before. Spoiler below shows the steps I followed:
1) Type "DISKPART" from the Command Prompt (accessible by clicking on Start and then typing "cmd" into the open field); you will then see the following prompt: DISKPART>
2) Type "LIST DISK" to see what number your USB drive is listed as. (Important, make sure you select the correct drive number! If you're unsure of the drive number launch disk management to verify (see thumbnail)
)3) Type "SELECT DISK 2" (if your USB is disk 2; replace # with your disk #); Diskpart will confirm that "Disk 2 is now the select disk."
4) Type "SELECT PARTITION 1" (this command selects what should be the only partition on your USB drive, the small one that you want to delete to get back the larger, full partition size). Diskpart will confirm with "Partition 1 is now the selected partition."
5) Type "DELETE PARTITION". This will delete the old partition. There are no warning prompts if you have existing data - make sure you have copied everything off before doing this!
6) Type "CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY" to create a new, full-size partition. Diskpart will confirm with message of "Diskpart succeeded in creating the specified partition." You can type in "LIST PARTITION" to confirm the new, full-size.
NOTE: Step 6 above CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY didn't work on my particular drive I had to use the CLEAN command instead and it worked. (i.e., instead of typing CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY, just type CREATE and hit enter
7) Type "EXIT" to leave Diskpart. You can now format your USB drive by using the standard Windows formatting process.
Thanks a lot, that really really helps

Resident evil 7 on LG C6 is just PERFECT..
I do not see how the game could be looking any better.. it just look so amazing, dark as hell, those deep blacks man!! Playing that game in the dark is really something!
I am playing on PS4 pro, but the details are crazy good, I dont care if it is not true 4k or something, it is the real thing!
I am more than pleased with my Oled so far... I will never touch an LCD again

I think there might also be the same setting in a C6... If anyone with either model can comment, would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Does anyone have a fix for the Hulu app on the B6? It seems like my E6 has the same issue as well. It just keeps spinning and spinning when I start my TV and won't boot up. Then if I turn my TV off for like 10-15 minutes and turn it back on then it will boot up. There is no way to exit the app like on Netflix is there? The only thing I saw was logout and I don't want to login every single time. Thanks for your help.

Same here.

I can't play those kind of game, I'm too weak.
LOL! Me too! Gives me some crazy nightmares. I'll stick with my my fun adventure games like Little Big Planet and Super Mario.:)
