Question regarding LG OLED and watching Oppo 105D

I have Oppo 105D and Sony 40" HX750, now I want replace it with LG OLED, but I want to watch movies as close to what is recorded on disc without picture problems, shall I choose full HD (like 9100) or 4K display?

My concern is convert or upscale the signal (like 1080P) to 4k can add additional processing which might affect PQ, which I always notice it on DVD upscaling to 1080P.

So I wonder if someone experience OPPO 105D in LG OLED both Full HD and 4K what did you find the difference and look better.

And thank you for answer.

I've no experience with the OPPO 105D and I unfortunately can't give sources, but from what I've read on AVS it seems that most anyone that connects a device that outputs at 1080p directly to the TV are quite satisfied with the upscaling (unless it's a PC showing the desktop, because PC UIs typically look better with nearest neighbor scaling. )

Also, if you've got the patience, money, and/or don't care about 3D (B6 model lacks 3D), then the 2016 models are definitely better.
