1 down.. 1 to go.. I didn't see a owners thread for the W7 (and I'm not the thread starting type) so I'm posting this here.

I'm going to sit, eat, watch 2 shows on the DVR on the G6.. then its a trek ahead to install the W7.

Fios has to go because the cable connector is in the middle of the wall where the W7 has to mount. To replace it I am going to use Direct TV Now on the Apple TV.

Keeping the OPPO 203 on the W7 and purchased a UBP-X1000ES (I didn't know this existed before today) for the A1E.

The box is bigger and heaver than the G6 and EG9600 I've purchased before.

You OLED junkie, you. You could've bought a 77" (and then some) with all the money spent on the 65" flagships.

This is true, but the latest year 77" always come out in the fall.. the Magnolia guys are saying November for the 77" W7. A1E 77" is September according to the Sony rep I spoke with.

I can't wait 6 months.

Yes, I'm an addict

Zero consideration for the 2016 model? The engrossment factor is what spurred me to not wait and get it instead.

The 77" is a great unit, I showed my wife a picture of the 77" that was sitting under a 65" at the Magnolia store and she summed it up by saying "oh, so you got the b#$ch model?"..

If this happened 6 months ago I would have got the 77" for sure.

some of us females can and do appreciate nicer a/v equipment more than a benz with a nice shine.

my g7 is tentatively set to be delivered in 6 days.

Above the fireplace where the G6 used to be. It was not a difficult as I thought it would be to mount the panel. The magnets in the display to the mount are very secure and tight feeling. I managed to maximize the screen space to the sit flush top of the ceiling (which I was surprised I was able to do) to make room at the bottom for the sound bar and expected speakers that will rise up once I turn it on.

Most of the work was removing the arm-bracket that held up the G6.

Interesting part is theres a blank wall plate that was the in-wall cable coax connector and the U-shaped bracket fit over this plate, and I think I could have run the cable down the lower back of the W7 along side the ribbon cable and run it to the Fios box. ?Now thinking about it, it would have worked.

I'm going to use Direct TV Now from the Apple TV which I can fit behind the sound bar.

A much cleaner look than the wall mounted solution I had here.

Everything the AVS crew said in the group video discussion is 100% accurate info.

My wife scoffed at the LG sound-bar placement so been looking at options all morning.. I've come to the realization that the screen is beyond super excellent, the sound bar is in the way.. So I've settled at building an enclosure to place the W7 sound bar on the left side of the fireplace and placing a Sony sound bar on the front of the mantle wood, because the Sony has screw mounts on the back.

Until LG make a non-speaker A/V box option, the side placement of the A/V unit provided is the best solution for me.

We need an owner thread from you, dang it. The Sony's not even out yet, and it has one. Don't be timid.

Nicely done Scott. As an owner of a 2016 G6 I was curious about the "glidepath" of improvements we'd see. I'll be waiting another year or two before updating though. I want to go to a 77" set and I might as well wait for all the HDR issues to get sorted out. Lastly, couldn't agree with you more that there should be a monitor version of this set. The sound bar (holding the electronics) is actually a burden in this case.
Of course, the 2016 sets are stil quite nice, so I'm still happy.

I know this thread is kind of dated, but I couldn't find another thread for this TV. Does anyone know how long the ribbon cable is that comes with this TV or if a longer cable could be purchased separately?
