Also note that on Sony sets the default setting is a good starting point. For example brightness, the default value has little tick marks above and below the dot on the adjust bar when you are at the default. Start there then adjust to taste.

Is it best practice to turn off all the motion or its better to keep it on?

I prefer a small amount of motion processing. This is on an A8F which is identical picture wise to the A1E.

Motionflow - Custom
Smoothness - 3
Clearness - Low
CineMotion - Off

Random question...but is OLED burn in while being powered off/unplugged for months a thing?

I unplugged my 65" Sony A1E and have had it sitting in my bedroom untouched since March 2019. I took a bunch of pictures right before taking it down (to use for listing it online to sell). It finally just sold now 8 months later. I just plugged it in and powered it up to check to make sure it still works before the guy picks it up, and there is a bunchhh of image retention that I'm seeing on the dark gray "blank" channel background. Some weird looking like lines of retention and then a couple of dark ovals. I'm not sure if this is damage from moving it (taking it off the wall, carrying it up stairs and setting it down etc.) or if it's some sort of burn-in that occurs from being powered off?

I looked through all the pictures I took of it right before I powered it off in March 2019 and there is absolutely none of this image retention that I'm seeing now...I'm running the panel refresh currently and hope that clears it up...crossing my fingers

EDIT: I'm shocked, the Panel Refresh resolved the issue 100%.

I noticed the recent Disney + update on our tv app stripped the Dolby Vision and HDR, everything is showing up in vanilla 4K.

I hope it was a minor error and put it back how it was.

Last night i turned off my A1E and i got a warning that i have hit an amount of hours and i needed a panel shift (it will do it automatic). First time seeing this and wondering how many hours you need to watch for this to come up lol? not sure if i should embarrassed for watching this much TV in 2 years!

This means you accumulated around 2000 hours of use on your panel in two years.
This is pretty much normal and nothing to worry about.

I can use my ATV4K for the same content but the streams just don't look as good as it originally did on the internal apps.
Is this just something that broke in Android and has yet to be fixed?
With the recent FBI warning about smart TVs spying on us at home and using facial recognition,
Where is the camera and listening speaker on this set, and how do we disable these functions?

My 2.5 year old A1E has almost 7000 hours on it, so I think your household is doing fine.
