There will be considerable drift with colors and white balance during the break-in period. My point is simply to not worry about improving the picture quality by making any adjustments towards that goal until you've got a good number of hours on the panel. Things will begin to pop again after a while.

BTW, running the OLED light at 100 while watching SDR content will hasten IR and BI. I have a medium bright room, and my C7 produces a stunning picture with ample brights with the OLED LIGHT set at 48.

This will not be as much of an issue with HDR content as the picture will not have the same brightness levels from corner to corner.

Hi Sonoftumble

Just wondering if you are still using your setting posted long ago and using Gamma 2.2 on your medium lit room with 48 OLED Light?

Thanks

Yes. I've bumped up the OLED LIGHT slightly to 49. Here's my current basic settings with Gamma still set to 2.2 . . .

OLED LIGHT:  49
Contrast:  85
Brightness: 50
Sharpness: 10
Color: 48
Tint:  0

You will have zero blooming on the OLED that is for sure....... I think you would be very happy.

Lg oled 55c7v not working

Hi!
I recently ordered a new LG Oled 55c7v and when it arrived it had a small crack in the right corner. When I turn it on, the Web OS came on, but after a few seconds it shuts down. Long story I got a new one from the store. Since they didn´t want the old one back I am trying to fix the broken one if possible.
(I am not fixing the screen, its only a few pixels)

I don´t know its the motherboard or powerboard that is causing it. Or something else. I like to hear what some of you think before I order a new motherboard.

Thanks
Roger

That's fine. They can turn on desktop mode and then click on the link. That way they will see all the settings in their full context.
Point taken, I probably could have elaborated on my instruction a little

Amazon needs to fix their app on these TVs. Their HDR programming has very elevated black levels and exhibit a lot of grain in the picture. External sources like my Apple TV 4K, or Nvidia Shield are much better looking. Shadow detail is much more defined and blacks are deep. I wonder if they are aware? I sent them an email but I don’t think they care lol

For now, external streamers are just flat out better. The lack of processing power in the TV is just not there unfortunately.

Netflix is fine, it’s just Amazon with the black level issue. You are right though, external sources are better for streaming.

On the subject of Amazon HDR, both Mrs. Masiel and Homecoming have pretty high black levels via my Apple TV, including picture-boxing but other picture content on their platform like First Reformed (shot 4:3) is absolutely fine. I figured it was their mastering or just a creative choice, since Homecoming had the gray bars in SDR 1080p too. If you're seeing a global elevation of black, I get that as well on VUDU on the Apple TV, the WebOS app is fine though. It is annoying to try to figure out what works best on which platform.

Question for those of you here that have dealt with this: has anyone had any luck in fixing a dead-subpixel? Worth running a pixel refresher? I recently spotted this one below on the set when I was really close to the TV. Not a huge deal as I can't even see it from 6' away. I figure if more go I can engage the warranty.

Has LG acknowledged an issue with the HDMI-CEC from the last firmware yet? I jumped on a deal for the E8 and ended up moving my C7 upstairs, so new cables and handshakes. I turned CEC back on and lo and behold the issue is still there. It is so damn annoying having to dig out all my remotes because of this.

I had one stuck in the corner of the tv when I first got my tv. After 3 months it unstuck itself.

What's the issue? It works fine for me on my C7. All I know of is some people with Apple TV where the Apple TV messes with it and they need to use a cable with those CEC wires disconnected.

Yeah, that's my issue. The combo of C7 and ATV seems to be broke with the latest firmware. No issues with my E8 and ATV.

Zero issues for me here with ATV and the C7. Latest firmware on both.

If you keep having some issues try doing a fresh install on both your TV and ATV. Assuming your HDMI cable isn’t the problem, this could fix these handshake issues.

Happy Halloween everybody! Well, I guess I'm a bit early, but I wanted to share this horrifying picture of what happens when a LUT repair fails. Needless to say, they have taken the TV away for a full panel replacement... YouTube video can give a bit more detail of just how bad it is, since my camera is terrible.

Did you turn off auto power sync and or QuickStart? It seems these settings were turned on as part of the latest firmware release and turning one or both off has resolved the issue for others.

I want those settings to be on. I want my TV and soundbar to power on when I turn on my ATV and I want them to turn off by putting the ATV to sleep. It worked fine for 13-14 months before this firmware.

This will not be as much of an issue with HDR content as the picture will not have the same brightness levels from corner to corner.

Whats the recommendation on calibrating the set after the 2000 hour pixel refresher? My B7 was calibrated at 100 hours in March 2018 and this will be the first time the pixel refresher has run.

Netflix on Fire TV 4th gen still does not support DV and Atmos, the LG app does
The Vision/Atmos shows are in HDR/DD+ on Fire TV (I have to say I can barely see the difference...)

I keep trying to use a cheaper streamer, but for the LG I keep coming back to the Apple TV 4k.

I was just going to switch to the LG apps, but there always seems to be something missing. Like Philo.

Which is why I said “and or QuickStart” as I believe other members have similar setups and need auto power sync on but turning off QuickStart solved their problem

In reality the issue is with devices like an Apple TV that don’t actually turn off and instead go to sleep and not with the LG.
