Also, you mentioned you were not getting 5.1 or Atmos after the update. Are you using the TV speakers or a soundbar?

I had a vertical line that took up about a quarter of the panel that just got worse until it was practically solid and took the whole height of the screen.
Ended up getting a warranty panel replacement at 15 months old. I did start looking into making a claim on my credit card's extended warranty, but in the end the standard Australian consumer guarantee laws had me covered.

I should have been more specific with my statement to cause less confusion. The impression I got from the the two posters I quoted was that one or both of them lost 5.1 and ATMOS output from the TV itself, not YouTube, after the latest firmware update. I know you can't get ATMOS from YouTube.

I use ARC from my TV to my sound bar so that is why I wanted some clarification.

A C7 owner in the Nakamichi owners' thread reported something similar, though it wasn't completely clear whether the firmware update was the cause. But the timeframe was right - Atmos to the Naka worked up until a week or so ago.

So I realised after a year of having my 55B7 I had to go into the audio settings and allow Simplink HDMI CEC get my tv to default to ARC sound. A couple of amazing things happened; My remotes volume buttons now syncs with my SJ9, and my HDMI 2 input (ARC capable) recognised my Panasonic UB820 as a dvd player so it also defaulted the remotes controls to the player! It also automatically switches the soundbars input back to ARC from HDMI IN when I switch from the DVD player to any other input, apps or live tv.

So here's my question, can the B7 passthrough atmos/dolby vision etc through the other HDMI inputs in the tv and still get ARC on the soundbar? Because my SJ9 has only one HDMI IN.

Also, If I were to get a audio receiver, would the TV recognise each device plugged into the receiver through the HDMI ARC input?

LG B7 65 - Firmware 05.80.35 update, have app issues now

After 05.80.35 update, Netflix keeps stopping during playback. It seems to pause playback and show a black screen. It requires me to unplug the tv from power to fix it. I noticed a similar issue on Prime Video. Anyone else have same issue?
TV is wired not wireless.

Well, I'm now quite concerned. I updated the firmware to .35 a few weeks ago via usb so that's that. Well, over the past few days, my C7 is turning itself off after a few seconds or a minute. I unplugged for 1 minute and tried again, same thing. Going to unplug for 1 hour and see what happens.

What's the best way to reach LG Customer Service if necessary?

Update:

Might have figured it. I kept seeing my AppleTV4k blink right before the C7 would power off. I unplugged the Appletv4k and tried the C7 again. Has been powered on for several minutes now, no problem. I went into the menu to see if SIMPLINK was Off and it was On. I have turned it to Off. Going to fiddle with Apple settings but if you guys don't hear anything else about this, consider me lucky and blessed!

If they let you downgrade it would be ok, but they don't.

I have a Marantz sr6011 and everything plugs into that and the 6011 plugs into the TV's HDMI2 (arc). By turning CEC off the TV now always goes into the proper mode. When CEC was on the results were mixed. The order in which things are switched on and perhaps the sophistication level of the AVR may have something to do with this.

jdsmoothie who 'owns' various denon/marantz/yamaha threads may be able to help, such as this one: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-re...hread-165.html

Is there a way to verify the 2000 hour comp cycle?

My 65B7A passed 2000 hours last week.. I've been checking every morning to see if I get message but nothing. TV is at 2015 hours now.

Also, given the problems with the new firmware is there someone at LG that we should contact? I'd imagine that the 7 series models are on the backburner and I wonder to what extent LG is aware of some of the issues that have popped up..

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the so called automatic refresh. My first refresh happened long after 2000 hours. I subsequently had the panel replaced due to the LUT box image issue at 3600 hours and nothing was done to the tv in the way of any resets on time or anything else at that time. I am now at over 4600 hours and no sign of another auto pixel refresh so I am content to wait until it happens if it happens. Maybe there is another internal clock other then what we can see that would recognize the panel replacement but I doubt it. So my advice to you is just wait until it happens.

If you're looking for help, please supply more information.

If you mean LG firmware 05.80.35, I installed it on my B7A. My AVR is a Denon AVR-X4300H. No problems so far.

For the B7A, Simplink is On, Autopower Sync is On.

For the AVR-X4300H, HDMI Control is Off, ARC is On. (I don't use ARC, so far.)

I operate the setup with a Logitech Harmony 700, so I'm not really relying on HDMI control.

If you do most of your viewing through other boxes, then they should be plugged into the Denon receiver, and not the TV ideally. That way, no ARC is required. However, for viewing Live TV using the TV's own tuner and for the TV's apps, then ARC or an optical connection is the only way to get audio.

You must enable Symplink in the LG TV settings, and you must also enable CEC/ARC in the Denon HDMI settings. The safest option is to then disable CEC control within the Denon HDMI settings so that your devices and TV don't try to automatically switch on and off and change inputs by themselves. If you want a single remote control, then I highly recommend getting a universal remote instead of going through the pain of trying to get CEC working reliably.

If you don't care about receiving DD+ or ATMOS from the TV or the TV apps, then you can happily use an optical connection from the TV to the Amp and forget about ARC and CEC altogether.

I have the Denon X3400, and am using this ARC successfully with CEC control turned off, and a Logitech Harmony Elite for control of my devices.

Guys, I use to play movies PC with Nvidia video card, how you configure it? because with the calibration of sonoftumble I see black as gray in ycbcr422 12bits limited. In RGB I was seen it black right, but with loss of detail in very very dark scenes without light (hardly anything was seen). It happens to me in hdr and sdr.

With an Nvidia card I've configured the following:
Nvidia Control Panel -> Display -> Change resolution
Here I've chosen 4k x 2k, 3840 x 2160 (native) (the default)
Under 3. I've "Use default color settings", which is Highest 32-bit, 8bpc, RGB, Full (which means the driver default). This solved various audio issues for me... and HDR games look nice.
Then in Windows 10 1903 (and also 1809) Display settings I've enabled HDR and in the HDR settings I've enabled everything. The SDR content appearance is at around 40-45%.

Those settings even remain after driver updates (if you change anything in the Nvidia control panel, it usually gets reset every driver update).

Here's yet another shot of the line that's returned after factory resets and pixel refresher.

Calling retailer tomorrow for an invoice (hopefully I purchased the extended warranty). This only started happening after the most recent update.

That definitely looks like the fault I got, and it was definitely a panel hardware fault that wasn't the result of a software change.

Good luck with the warranty! Though it is pretty reasonable to expect that such an expensive TV should not spontaneously fail in such a short time.
