I can raise the OLED Light on the B7 to get it to look more like the B8, but I keep reading that I'm supposed to leave that at 50 for Dolby Vision.
The B7 has a very different panel compared to the B8, with a little bit higher peak brightness (at least to tests I have read, the B7 is brighter). Anyway, you can either calibrate it, or simply change it to your own preference. Don't forget, most calibrations are for somewhat darkened rooms. So if your room has full daylight brightness, you can increase the OLED light.
You have the same power saving features disabled on both sets? That can make a big difference.

Thank you! Yes, the power saving features are off on both sets. Both sets are in darkened rooms.

If I raise the OLED Light to 100 for Dolby Vision on the B7, it looks closer to the B8 which has it set to 50.

I thought I read that I should always leave the OLED Light on 50 for Dolby Vision content. Is it ok to increase it on the B7?

It depends what is more important to you, a mostly correct image or a comfortable image. You decide yourself for your own set.
I haven't compared the two, so I don't know if maybe something else is at play here, but a difference of 50 seems to be quite a lot.

Anyone know why Dolby Vision looks a lot better on my B8 than my B7 with the same Cinema settings? Thanks!
I had my C7 professionally calibrated back then and DV User mode was calibrated as well as HDR user and isf Day and Night modes. What I can say is DV user is considerably darker to the point I use the uncalibrated DV Home. I had moved the C7 down to exercise room so I am not overly concerned.

Thanks! I may just use DV Cinema Home on the B7. I'd rather have the picture be a little too bright than way too dark like DV Cinema is. I was just confused because DV Cinema looks amazing on my B8.

I had my B7 professionally calibrated by ChadB and found DV too dark. I briefly discussed with him, and he said increasing OLED light just alters gamma and would leave most of the main calibration intact. I have found that increasing OLED light in DV mode to between 70 and 80 brightens up the image enough where I am fine with it.

Yes, the D+ app updated internally to 1.2.2, (and to 1.2.3 in the LG Store), and now supports the Magic Cursor.

Disney still hasn't figured out the LG store in conjunction with its own internal update mechanism - internal versions are always behind external..

Test & verify etc...

Guys, with this last firmware.. Do you know if is an issue the Netflix it's limited to ≈ 7.2 Mbps instead of the ≈ 15 Mbps that it was previously? I'm watching a Dolby Vision Show and it's capped to 7.2 Mbps!

Not a known issue, I routinely/always get 15Mbps with 4K+HDR (DV or HDR10) on all devices, including the C7 on any firmware version (tested it with multiple titles just before posting).

Assuming you arent in a "NetFlix COVID19 bandwidth-limited area", and if youve already verified your connection (and perhaps rebooted your gateway), then it might be worth exiting NF (Get Help/Exit NF <--- use this method), unplugging the TV for 3-5 mins, then plugging it back in, loading NF and checking the bitrate again.

Next to none (officially), considering that neither HBO Now or HBO Go is supported in the US (HBO Go is supported in "latin america"), and the HBO Max app replaces the Now app on devices...

the pop-up disappeared quickly so I wasn't sure if I read it correctly...so Twitch is indeed a new app that was added?...do the later 2018/2019/2020 models already come pre-installed with Twitch and LG just decided recently to add it to the 2017 models?

It was announced/added a few days ago:

https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.ph...&id=1590646435

"The companies are not specifying TV compatibility but the app has been confirmed to work on LG TVs from 2017 and later, specifically TVs with webOS 3.5 and later. LG is not providing webOS updates to previous TVs. The Twitch app may work on older LG TVs too but we are unable to confirm full compatibility at this time."

If you want to see your LG Notifications history, press the Home button, and scroll all the way right until you see the yellow/gold Notifications option, and click on it.

seems like as long as you have an LG OLED display from at least 2017 you're still getting an excellent TV...I'm perfectly happy with my C7 as there have been no major improvements in terms of PQ (outside of gaming and limited HDMI 2.1 support)...even the CX 2020 models have lower peak brightness levels...and they continue to add new apps such as Movies Anywhere and now Twitch

....not to mention missing/removed functionality in the 2020 line such Technicolor Advanced HDR (no practical impact), Technicolor Mode, and DTS/DTS-HD decoding/passthrough (significant impact for streamers and using the TV as a media/home theater hub, ironically with the addition of eARC), and full 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 support (reduced to 40Gbps for better "AI" processing...)...

So yeah, the 2017 line certainly continues to maintain value, even with its limitations and restrictions, especially with the addition of new "premium"/mainstream apps..

as far as Technicolor Picture Mode I think that's been replaced with Filmmaker Mode in the new models...is Technicolor HDR actually used with any content?

Yes, Filmmaker Mode replaced it, and nothing was using Advanced HDR (any of the 3 modes) hence "no practical impact".

Disney+ app updated to 1.2.4 (only in the Content Store)

Disney+ has been updated to 1.2.4 - but only in the Content Store. Internally D+ remains at 1.2.2, in the fine Disney tradition of having little understanding of how to deploy and update its app in conjunction with the LG Content Store, such that the internal version is always behind the external version.

I'm having a weird issue with my B7 that's been going on a while now. Outputting via optical to my receiver, in 5.1 the center channel just... stops working. It happens often in Amazon Prime Video and sometimes with Netflix (internal apps) as well as any devices connected via HDMI like my Hulu or Xbox One X. Bitstream still shows 5.1 but there's no center channel audio at all.

I really don't want to have to buy a new receiver but mine is older and doesn't support ARC.
