We pick it up by the panel all the time with no problems. Just cradle the edge in the palm of your hand and you will be fine.

But if you have an E7 or a G7 then for sure pick it up by the base.

Cleaning the panel?

Hey Guys!

I love my 65 C7. I am concerned about cleaning the panel. What are you guys using to keep the glass clean? I live in a apartment, the kitchen is nearby and I don't want to have residue get stuck to the panel. Is there a recommended method to clean this OLED TV?

Thanks for your suggestions,

Gus

Guys LG mentioned on their firmware release notes
(http://www.lg.com/us/support-product...D65C7P#manuals)

Firmware Version 04.70.07
Improvements

1) Support TrueHD audio format through HDMI
2) Technicolor Expert mode

So if I connect ARC/HDMI out of LG C7 to ARC/HDMI IN on my Denon reciever via a HDMI cable (as opposed to Optical link that I have now) I will get lossless Atmos signal ?

Please correct me if I am wrong in my understanding.

TV: LG C7 65" OLED
Home Theater System: Denon AVR X2400H 7.2 Ch, (R/L) Def Tech BP9060ST Floor Towers, Height Speaker - Def Tech A90, Center Speaker - Def Tech CS9060
Streaming Device: Apple TV 4K

Well, AC:O gives you two sliders. One is "what is the output of your TV in nits" and the other is the a color of white paper. It's an odd setup. And they still have a brightness setting.

Lol I saw that same video...i guess I recommended to lift by the stand cause I ended having fingerprints along the edges of my e6 when I set it up...but I would venture to say that I am clumsier than most folks! Just a reminder it will take a few comp cycles for the panel to settle...so it might crush in the beginning.

quick question: is it OK to lift this TV (on stand) by the bottom of the glass?

or just by the stand?

tia
You can lift it by the bottom of the TV. It's fatter at the bottom holding all the electronics so you can hold it by that and just lightly hold the side of the screen to keep it vertical.

I would advise having another person to help you do it.

I installed the screen without laying it flat. We just put the stand on the ground, then lowered the TV down onto the stand vertically. The stand has two nubs on the top that hold the TV on it. Then one person held the TV vertical while I went around to the back and put the screws in. After that we both just lifted the whole thing onto the TV cabinet by the bottom of the TV as I described in the first paragraph.

I wish I had someone explain those instructions to me at the start instead of being reliant on the horrible LG "instructions" that were supplied.

Good luck! You'll love the new TV!!

Guys have any advice for minimizing how noticeable the ABL is on a C7? Playing the new Mario right now and all the brightly colored stages are making my OLED light go nuts. Standard picture mode with my own settings.

ARC does not have enough bandwidth for TrueHD so no TV can pass TrueHD via ARC.

The TV can transcode a TrueHD signal coming on a HDMI input to lossy DD+ to send over ARC.

The Netflix (and I think Vudu) app can send Atmos on DD+ via ARC.

Also the TV's internal media player will not play the audio if it is TrueHD. It will play the next audio track if there is one.

Man, there needs to be a FAQ. This question comes up every couple of pages.

hi everyone
i did what TohaLA told me and thank him for his advise ,and they came and replace it with new one
but guess what same issue but little bit less the yellow colour exist in same place the left side of the screen the question now is this a common issue ?or am the first ?

am using my screen throw my HTPC \DENON AVR-X4300H.
screen updated avr too
i even used the youtube app in the screen to make sure the problem not from the HTPC but still i can see it i've i asked some of my friends all of them they said it is obvious.

sorry for long question but i don't know what to do.
It's a well-known problem. Have a look at this thread on avforum if you want to scare yourself.

I wouldn't accept that yellow piss-stain in your picture.

Sorry man, looks like you're now another unlucky participant in the panel lottery. Good luck.

It's a hassle to constantly switch the inputs, but that's how it is right now until LG fixes the HDR in PC mode or allows to change the color gamut in game mode.

This is what I determined this morning as well.

Hey all, joined the club last Friday and had a chance to enjoy the new TV this weekend.

I got an OLED55C7P and coming from my old 47LX6500 (which was dying a slow sad death) the picture quality differences are striking. I'm also surprised at how much bigger the modest size increase actually feels.

It was interesting reading through all the obsessing over screen uniformity and such on here. To my eyes I honestly can't see anything bothersome about the picture. It just looks incredible.

Watched a few iTunes movies as well as some Netflix via the Apple TV 4K and really looking forward to watching a few 4K blu rays and trying out some gaming with my Xbox One X when it gets here tomorrow.

I had a few quirks though that I'm hoping to pass by the forum and see if anyone has thoughts or saw similar things.

I ran the HDMI from my Apple TV 4K directly to the TV because my receiver (which can do 4K stuff) wasn't passing on the fact that connected TV was cabled of Dolby Vision HDR so the Apple TV was falling back on HDR10.

Anyway so then I ran the audio out via TOS Link back down to the receiver.

This all worked with a few issues:

1. I occasionally got some nasty LOUD static from the audio out on the LG. This never happened with the Apple TV connected directly to the receiver.
2. I also seemed to be getting some weird and very sporadic audio interference in the form of some faint clicking and a high pitch beep/whine that sound a tiny bit like the interference you used to get from a cellphone that was too close to unshielded speakers. This sound was not there all the time but it occurred sporadically throughout the weekend. I'm not 100% convinced it was actually the TV that was the source of the issue but wanted to bring it up in case anyone else has heard it.

Anyway, that's it. Generally super happy with my purchase and really looking forward to gaming on this thing but definitely want to sort out these audio issues.

I checked the master information thread first post only and didn't find any answer there. I didn't go through the entire thread. I can see your request to the OP now when I went through the whole thread. I have PMed him with my question and your response. Hopefully it will get updated soon. Anyway, you might want to look under "General / Timers" - there are some power-off options in there that might be what you're after:
"Timer Power off" and "2 hours auto power off"... Again, still on 3.60.11
Thanks for checking. Yes i have seen those timers. However that doesnt give me what i want. To be able to auto shut down the tv after no signal is detected. Those timer options are to set your own time for powering off the tv

Just as a heads up to anyone else wanting to do the same thing, the LG guys only look at the built-in picture test (of the flower), a full red screen, a full blue screen, a full green screen, and a full cool white screen. Nothing else was considered. The problem for me is only visible on white and yellow screens (much more visible on yellow).

This is what my TV looks like on a full warm white screen from my normal sitting position.

Is there anything else I can do at this time to get a replacement panel? Or should I just live with it? I really don't want to have the package the whole thing up and ship it back to my (authorized) reseller.

I had similar light yellow band say 3-6 inches along left side. BB tech came out and sent pic to someone, not sure if it was LG and they could not see it. He kept saying it was there and they finally gave in and authorized the swap. 3 weeks later I have new panel and do not see any yellow. Some banding, but after 20 hours with power off ever 4-5 hours to trigger compensation cycles the banding is starting to go away. I have fingers crossed and am counting down until I can get it calibrated.

I would push for panel swap. Keep pushing LG. Their support sucks as do most manufacturers. Wife's Samsung 6300 LED TV has had 2 panels, second one was a fight, but their support was horrible as well. This is why I buy from Best Buy with Geek Squad warranty or Costco.
