The INFO button on my Harmony does nothing on Netflix. It is Netflix's fault, who disabled that

After a couple of days, the difference is unreal. Normal HD is now enjoyable, and while not as crisp looking as a great 1080p set (like the Kuro 151FD I'm coming from) it's almost equal. Colors have settled in as well, and everything looks very natural. I'm using @sonoftumble 's settings, with some adjustments, until it can get it properly calibrated.

Not sure how much of the improvement is due to the new firmware I installed yesterday, the settings, or to the display settling in over about 20 hours of use. But so far, so good!
It would be interesting from a pure comparison standpoint to see how different the settings will be with an in-house calibration vs. mine or others. Curious about how varied the panel variances really are.

Hey @tylerk86 ,

This is something we've been kicking around as well. Maybe the gamut setting is more mysterious than what we've been thinking!

Check out this post.

Play something you know is encoded with a wide color and go in to the color setting and manually switch it.
Notice the change.

If the content is suppose to be wide color why is the tv showing a difference when you manually switch the gamut yourself. It should already be showing it wide and not show any difference when you select “wide”

What am I missing here?

I asked the same question. No one has an answer so far.

UHD's are suppose to be WCG but the if left to Auto, the LG's never switch to Wide.

i do feel that the 4k bluray looks great on my b7 but i dont like that in 4k hdr mode the black bars on top and bottom of the movies are no longer black. they are a dark gray. it is very distracting, i dont recall it being that way in sdr bluray.

I have asked lg support, but they gave me the canned “use normal for best experience” line and never really answered how this setting actually works or why I could introduce a color change on sources that should already be playing in wide.

It would be great if we could get some form of actual clarification on what’s happening.

We know that normal is suppose to automatically detect and switch it, but the fact I can introduce a change like this would say otherwise.

Do you have dynamic contrast on low to engage active HDR?
If so, what happens to the bars when you turn it off completely?

I’ve noticed active HDR raises gamma on some sources.

Anyone disabled HDMI-CEC or Simplink? I had this weird issue and turned off HDMI-CEC and things are working.

Basically, DTV STB into CBL-SAT port and HDMI-ARC into my ARC port on my B7. When turning on my TV/AVR, the picture would flash and my AVR would switch the port to TV-input with a Denon logo. Turning off HDMI-CEC solved this. (DTV would come on and the AVR wouldnt switch inputs).

My thought is maybe with all the HDMI control and CEC things were stepping on each other.

Hold the input button down for a second, that brings up the detailed input menu.

Select the appropriate input on the left, then on the right go to edit icon and choose PC (or whatever you want to change it to).

Can anyone enlighten me with what I should set the black level to and RGB range to on my PS4 and C7? From what I understand the PS4 should be set to Auto and then the C7 should be set to high for SDR games and Low for HDR games. Is this correct?

Yeah. It doesn't solve your issue of running direct Xbox to LG and sending Atmos.
But the black-levels issue is completely resolved in the Insider Program dashboard update:

Q: Can I bring my Xbox One X into the Xbox Insider Program?
A: Yes! Whether you wish to join as a new Insider or are already an existing member of the Xbox Insider program, enrolling a console such as a brand new Xbox One X is easy. Search the Store for the Xbox Insider Hub and install. After launching the Xbox Insider Hub, select Insider Content and choose the "Xbox One Update Preview" tile. From there you'll be able to enroll in a Preview Group by selecting "Join" or "Manage." For more details, check out: https://news.xbox.com/2017/11/06/lea...pdate-preview/

I chose program Alpha for the "bleeding edge" updates. I was notified in just a few minutes that an update was available - note that I was previously in the Apha update ring with my prior Xbox, I don't know if that makes a difference in how quickly you get it.

why would you turn off pixel refresher? it is on by default for good reason, to help minimize "burn in" issues.

I would leave it on...simply because it is their to help with ir, as far as banding it does help "clear up" in the first few cycles...but if it doesn't go away it likely will not. I think it's a great feature to have on these. Also I have screen shift set to off...but that's a personal preference.

Nothing I'm aware of, but I'm only a slightly above-average level awareness consumer. I'm no pro.

Pretty much agree to this but I leave screen shift on because I do play games or watch NFL with static elements on the screen.

Pixel refresher: This is not something you can disable. You can activate it if you feel it's necessary. It runs for about an hour once you activate it, after the TV is shut off. There is an automatic 10-minute version which runs every time the TV accumulates 4 hours of run time. I don't think you can disable it.
