Mine says Costco, too. Apparently that's just where you got the warranty from (at least, that's what they told me).

I was able to put my serial number in there, as it's listed in my list of warranties next to the model name. As long as you've uploaded the receipt, you're fine in regards everything else, but you can definitely do chat on the website to make yourself feel better.

I did buy an extended warranty for my last TV, which was a plasma, and never used it. It did have a bit of image retention after a few years (mostly the Comedy Central and Dish DVR logos!), but it was only visible on some slides and not with normal content. So I kinda regret buying that though it did give me peace of mind at the time. It did cover burn-in, I believe.

Strange that it even lists the phone numbers for Costco Concierge as if they are going to help me somehow if I have a problem. I am actually chatting now with SquareTrade and they said I can update the place I purchased and put in the serial. Neither of which I can figure out how to do. I’m usually great with this stuff. Let me spend a few more minutes lol.

EDIT: Got it! Customer service helped me verify receipt and get it uploaded. Good to go. Now just need to pray I don’t get burn in. Feel good being covered for everything else though (minus accidental damage)

I don't know if BB is going to agree with you that the yellow stain is a refundable defect, or a defect at all.

I watched IT on iTunes and it was awesome. There's a example of some DV content that has no film grain. Just pure awesomeness

I'm holding out a bit on the ones that can play DV until all the kinks are worked out, the m8500 is good enough so far for me!

Hey guys so I have had my B7 for about a month and a half now and I was wondering how my banding is.

It was super noticeable when I watched mindhunters and I notice it every now and then. Is there a way to lessen it or will that just come with time?

The BB warranty wouldn't cover the yellow tinting and banding issues?

How do I get Dolby atmos + Dolby vision on Netflix?
According to what I researched, this can only be achieved on lg oled built in Netflix app. According to Netflix website it's supposed to work through arc to atmos enabled home theater system, but I can't get it to show Dolby vision + atmos logo. My setup is connected as such: all devices => onkyo rz1100 => LG oled. All through hdmi. I enabled ARC and CEC on everything but I still can't get it the Netflix app to acknowledge atmos. What am I missing?

My Current setup (5.1.4):
Display - LG 65 inch OLED C7 // Receiver - Onkyo RZ1100
Fronts - Klispch RF-82IIs // Center - Klipsch RC-62II
Side Surrounds - Klispch RS-42IIs // Rear ATMOS (RH) - Klipsch RP-140SAs
Subwoofeer - Klipsch R-115SW // Front ATMOS (FH) - Klipsch RP-140SAs

Can someone PLEASE give me a de facto explanation for black level setting. I have found so much conflicting info regarding an Apple TV and black level setting on the tv.

Is low for 0-255 or is high for 0-255?

Am pretty sure RGB Low on Apple TV is 0-255.

Second question, should I use RGB low, or leave it on YCbCr. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also need to do a bit more research and maybe download some test slides to help understand seeing crushed blacks and what not.

This may or may not answer your question

http://iaintnoextra.tumblr.com/post/...highlow-on-the

Apple is using some weird naming.

You probably should use YCbCr, as that is widely understood to be 16-235 and unambiguous.

Any tips, or is the receiver just non compatible?
Hi Mollusk,

First let me say, I am no expert, I have only had my 65C7 set up for about two weeks now. However, I was able to gain volume control (and only volume control) over my ancient (fifteen plus year old) JVC audio receiver via the 'Magic Remote' by telling the C7 it was a sound bar. It then let me choose my manufacturer from a list and scroll through remote defaults until I found one that worked.

Now there maybe drawbacks I haven't found yet, but it didn't seem to change the signal my receiver getting via tos-link in any way.

It's slower and a bit more clunky then changing volume with the receiver remote, so I don't really use it, but my wife seems to appreciate the convenience.

No clue if this method will work for you, but I just thought I'd share.

-Cheers-

I arrived in Vegas yesterday afternoon. I had to wait for the storm to clear out of So. Cal before I hit the road, and by the time I arrived, things looked pretty nice. Then there was the major power outage in the central hall today that really messed with my schedule ( grrrrr ), so I'm running about a 1/2 day behind. The power outage also caused Penn and Teller to cancel their show tonight - first time in over 12 years. I did get to Sony's, LG's, Samsung's, and TCL's booths. It's not fair to call them booths as they occupy entire city blocks of square footage for each brand!!

I got some good info on Technicolor HDR and saw some content ( Dodger game ). It looked spectacular. I'm going to put together a more extensive and detailed info on several topics including the 10,000 nit 8K Sony LCD panel. ( might have laser backlighting ) Technicolor is expected to release their HDR platform on Feb 2nd. More to come . . .

It looks like you need to drop the bracket 6 or 7". Check the 4 mounting holes (wall side) and if this is 6 or 7" you only need to drill 2 new holes. If wall is wooden stud - no problem, if plaster get a heavy duty purpose made fixing.

PS Top 2 holes need to be very sound. Bottom 2 are less important. A previous poster finished up with his new C7 hitting a concrete floor - his TV is now a very expensive paper weight.

You will only see the Atmos badge on the screen if you are using internal speakers. When using an AVR the only way you can tell you are getting Atmos is by looking at your receiver. I experienced this myself ... when I changed my settings to use the internal speakers that was the first time I'd seen both the Vision and Atmos badges. I usually only see the Vision one, but my Denon will display Atmos on the front panel.

So as citsur86 notes, you should set your box to output 720p and let the LG handle the upscaling as it should do a far better job of it than the X1 box.

I spend this past Saturday putting together my brother-in-law’s home theater with my father in law’s help. I’m the A/V guy, father-in-law is handyman/electrician. My job was to tell them where to cut holes for in wall speakers, where projector goes, where surround speakers go, etc. I got there 15 minutes late and they already cut the holes for the front left and right speakers, and they cut them under the screen and not far away enough from the center speaker or even the center console overhang. It still came out nice, and sounds fine - but it is in no way how I would have done it if I had gotten there earlier.

Is anyone using an IP-based control system (via an app-based system or other control system like RTI, URC, or Control 4) instead of RS-232 or IR to control their display?

Check with your credit card company. My CITI VISA gives you a two year extended warranty added to the one year manufacturer's warranty. That gives me three years of warranty for free. Check yours out.
