^^^Lol you can't think like that!!! I would suggest picking one up...prices are really good, from a place with a good return period/policy.

I appreciate it.
But I'm no videophile anyway and anything that brings potential headaches with it is enough to make me run the other way. I've got enough to worry about without adding my tv into the mix.

If you can afford to buy the 65", I think you'll regret not upgrading. I have the 65" in a small living room and I'm glad I didn't settle for the 55".

I'm sure that your wife will understand. It's the same gift, just a different size. If she had given you a shirt that was too small, would her feelings be hurt if you exchanged it for a larger size?

Works great on my C7P. It does stay on when you shut the set off and it’s time for its pixel refresh cycle, (took a post to this forum to figure out that was what’s happening) but that’s only for 5 minutes or so. It’s actually kinda handy as it gives me time to get out of the room without having to turn another light on!

FWIW I’ve been using a Luminoodle plugged into the TV’s USB for 7-8 months and it’s working fine. Wonder what it’s doing to my port?

I've done a little gripping on here about the PQ of my Dish non-4K DVR (halo color banding etc) on the 65B7A, since that's most of what I watch. However, I just want to say that tonight I watched episode 1 of American Gods from a Blu-ray played on my Oppo 203, and Wow! This is why I bought this TV. What a spectacular picture! And it wasn't even a 4K UHD/HDR Blu-ray. Total immersion. I used the Technicolor Expert PM, with the only change being the color temp from warm2 to warm1 (I prefer whiter whites). No motion artifacts, color banding, etc. A little bit of vertical banding in some rare grey scenes, but I still feel I lucked out with the uniformity on this set. I've got around 110 hours on it so far. I swear this Blu-ray looked better than the Spider-Man: Homecoming 4K UHD Dolby Vision disc I watched last week.

So anyway, pretty happy camper at this point, even if I do have my issues with the satellite material, and have a low internet connection speed which prevents me getting maximum benefit with streaming from my Apple TV 4K etc. My lip sync problems have also mostly gone away, the sole remaining one being the ATV4K, especially the Amazon Prime app, but that seems to be common right now. Turning off Match Frame Rate doesn't help. At least I can set an audio delay on my AVR separately for different sources.

How can you reduce the brightness of the subtitles (Netflix app)? I had so my trouble watching anything in a totally dark room. These subtitles were burning my eyes. Can't say it was comfortable...

Yes, subtitles harm the eyes... I have tried reducing Oled light and Brightness, but then the picture is not as good. I do not know how to resolve this compromise

You do this from your browser, login in Netflix - Account - Subtitle appearance.

Here are my settings, darker font 'Block' + semitransparent, and shadow 'Uniform'.

No eyestraining when watching DV or HDR.

Yes, no problem. The Luminoodle only stays on for 5 - 10 mins on switch-off if a pixel refresh is being performed - (it does the refresh on switch-off after 4 hours cumulative on time).

with the resolution these offer you can sit closer than traditional tvs, too....plus when you're playing a movie
often it's reformatted size wise, so often you end up losing some of that larger screen size.

one writer of an article of comparing 55 to 65 screens (i was in the same boat once, undecided which to buy at one time)summed it up well 'while you'll often find people with a 55'' wishing they'd gone up to a 65'' tv, it's seldom that you'll find those with a larger 65'' going the opposite route.'' I don't believe that's accurate.
And it really doesn't matter to me. I went through the whole panel lottery, slides, burn in, image retention, more slides circus with my plasma. Not interested in doing it again.
I have a 4k LCD that I'm happy to settle for without any of that hassle.
Just my situation. YMMV

A larger size that costs 2x as much and the original shirt wasn't too small you just like to wear baggy shirts.

What brightness and OLED light is everyone using for Dolby vision content? I keep hearing how Dolby vision is supposed to so much better than hdr but I've yet to experience it .

I've tried cinema home with brightness at 49 and the film grain really sticks out for movies, cinema on the other hand looked more accurate but really dim. Does messing with the OLED light or dynamic contrast effect how Dolby vision is supposed to function?

Cinema, rather than Cinema Home, is what most recommend. I use all the default settings except for contrast, which I have lowered to 95.

Hello fellow C7 owners, I apologize if this has already been discussed, I tried a search and it came up empty. Any chance our sets are ever likely to get an HDR10+ update? I feel it is silly if we don't get one as we already have Dolby Vision and that cost LG money where as giving us HDR10+ would be free (fee wise anyway).

The partnership between LG and Dolby Vision is a big selling point, to even acknowledge that HDR10+ exists would be a slap in the face for Dolby.

The partnership can't be too strong considering the flop that LG's UP970 player has been with DV. I had gotten one before i learned that they pulled the update back and ended up returning it. Then i broke down and got the Oppo so I could finally take advantage of my C7's DV capability. There are players coming out this year that will have both, why not sets?

So it doesn't look too dim to you compared to hdr 10? I've yet to try a Dolby vision uhd disk but Netflix and vudu seem too dark
