Put it at the top edge, left portion.

It will show the input resolution.

What I want to know is how to get rid of the red pointer and the settings menus in the least amount of clicks. It is not Back nor Home. You might say 'but it goes away after 5 seconds of inactivity', but that is 5 seconds of wife grumpiness.
I use "Down" in the center circle to remove the red pointer

Ahh that’s kind of a crap shoot on grey and off grey colors. My OLED does have some of this at times but I don’t subscribe to any hockey package to check if it shows up on the ice. If the NHL app offers a free trial I will be more than happy to sign up and try for you.

But that isn't my question.

My question concerns the internal apps, particularly Netflix, and those settings.

For the internal Netflix app, does it have its own set of settings (hdr and sdr) to set? Do all internal apps share the same settings?

Or do the internals apps all share their settings with, say, hdmi 1? Like I don't want to adjust the internal Netflix settings, and later find out that I messed up hdmi 1 or my cable settings.

Not my main question, but does anyone know how many different places there are to set settings?

The app settings apply to all the apps in my experience. For example I set the Dolby vision settings for Netflix and they loaded up for Vudu as well. So you set the sdr and hdr settings for hdr10 and Dolby vision on each input plus apps. That’s it as far as I know.

That wasn't clear from what you posted.

The LG OLED sets can show some banding, but it comes from a different cause. One test for that is to show a dark gray (5%) uniform screen.

I have no idea whether it'd show up in hockey games. I have a B7A, but I don't watch hockey. (Or other sports, much. The Superbowl was fine.)

I pulled the trigger on a C7. Will see how it goes.. From what I can read it does better on white screen then LCD.

It does better than LCD at most ranges of the spectrum, the exception being dark gray. i.e., OLED will be great with hockey, baseball/football and golf but bands will reveal itself in some dramas with dark gray scenes. So you have the choice of dealing with SOE/banding every time the camera pans on a green field or the few seconds from a drama.

Don't freak out about uniformity the first few hours of your C7 as it should clear up after a couple of compensation cycles. If you don't know what this is don't worry about it as they're scheduled to run on their own. And though good advice is usually not taken it should be given nonetheless - unless you're noticing banding in content avoid the 5% slide that's mentioned so often. I hope you enjoy your TV!

Hi all!

When the 2018 models start rolling out, I'm considering picking up a B7 at a discount when they start dropping in price a bit more.

I've got one question that I can't quite tell from pictures and specs I've been able to find. Using the standard stand on the 65" B7 model, how much space is there between the table-top and the bottom of the screen (not necessarily the [thin] bezel, but the screen)? Just wondering if a Nintendo Switch with it's dock can sit at the base of the TV without covering part of the screen in most seating configurations. Most pictures I've seen makes the stand look very short, but it might have to do with scale in my mind. I've never had a TV that large before.

If this setup is not going to work, is there an alternate stand someone might recommend? (Something along these lines: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Universa...pSrc=srch&th=1 ) Wall mounting is not really an option in my setup.

Thanks!

Distance from surface to bottom of bezel is 2-1/4". Just got my new 65B7a a week ago today. First time back on the forum since I bought an LG 60" plasma in 2011. The b7a outperforms all three of my plasmas, a pleasant surprise.

While I'm here, could someone olease point me to @sonoftumble s SDR and HDR settings? Finding anything in this thread is a needle/haystack task. Looking forward to getting back in the game, here.

I want to say from past memory that usually the older models sellout (NEW, not used) before any further discount is seen from what is out there right now. CP might be able to comment better on this since he's in the biz.

The stand blocks access to the back aside from the sides and it's short on all sides for the most part. Have to think about wires too, but if on a table top why can't the nswitch sit on that off to the side or on a shelf?

I don’t think prices are going to drop much more and there doesn’t appear to be a back stock of these sets as the set I bought in February had a manufacturing date of January 2018. If you want one you better get it. The 2018 models will be double the price.

If I remember correctly, sonoftumble 's settings are found in his signature line link. Signature lines are seen on a computer, not on mobile.

I exchanged a B7P for a C7P, and I was disappointed to find that the C7P sits closer down than the B7P. Couldn't fit my 4k player under it. So I added a piece of wood beneath the TV stand. Problem solved.

How is the performance on the built-in Youtube application? Any good? I know on the x930e I would get really low connection speed compare to ChromeCast Ultra.

I'm considering returning the ChromeCast.

The burn in issues are really a none issues as you will have to have a static picture on for a long time. Most average users will not go to that extreme. Look at the amount of time these static pictures are on and then you would realize it is an overblown issues

LG OLED C7 screensaver not coming on when using cable box

When using the TV's built-in apps (Vudu, etc.), the screensaver (fireworks display) will come on automatically if the movie is paused. However when viewing cable, via a set-top box connected via HDMI, the screensaver will not come on if we pause a show. Is there any way to fix this?

So will getting the 65" B7 soon. More than likely from BB. I have played the panel lottery and lost one too many times to risk shipping. I know when I bought my Vizio 60" from Costco they were all in a big wooden crate standing up. I would imagine that is how they arrive at any big retailer. At least I hope so.

I did try searching before posting here. I have a passive sound bar since I already had an AVR from 5.1 which this house just not supports. Each speaker is individually wired. Added a sub and it's fine. Myself and a neighbor mounted it. That's when I fell in love with ARC. I have one single in-wall rated HDMI cable and that's it. Works perfectly and is rock solid. I have read differing views on how well ARC works with the LGs. Most of the problems seem to be with one popular AVR. So I decided on a Yamaha. Which just so happens is also what I have been using the past 4 years. They upgraded the firmware recently and it supports in addition to HDR10, DV and HLG.

Finally my question: Does anyone here use a Yamaha RX-V x83 with ARC on a B7 or C7? Any problems? ARC is an important factor. I only have 4 devices but the cables will not fit through the cable channel in the wall. Am never going to have wires/cables dangling down. For me, it would completely destroy the look.

Thanks in advance!

What if I watch a 3 hour game every day on the same channel that has the same score bar. From my search that would eventually cause burn in.

My son plays games a LOT on his 55 B7A. A LOT. Only games. If he had any burn in he would loudly say so. 3 hours a day is not a LOT.

If I understand the specs on the 65B7 correctly, the height between the bottom of the TV and the table is 2.0" (5.08 cm). The bezel is pretty narrow (about 1/16", 1.6 mm) that you wouldn't gain much by having something intrude on the bezel. I'm not sure how close the image comes to the edge of the bezel, but there may be a small additional margin there.

I use this stand on a 55": https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The manufacturer claims that it'll work with an 80 lb TV. The 65B7 weighs 50.9 lb without its base. It's a fairly good unit, but the screws to lock the brackets (the ones that mount to the TV) to the horizontal rails were obviously a design afterthought. I don't use them.

I wonder how much the B7A prices will drop. on the LG web site, I see that they're listing the 2016 B6 for $200 less than 2017 B7A. Significant, but not a major percentage.

No matter where you buy there is always a risk of damage.......
