Just returned from BB and my Amex is burning still...New 65 A1E to be delivered mid week..I can now post and not just stalk this forum. Excited and always a bit of buyers remorse for spending so much on a new TV. Had the same remorse when I bought my Pioneer Kuro but that love affair lasted 10 years and was worth every penny...I hope I have the same luck with the AlE..

And got to thinking, maybe I have an old Sony Cybershot/Camcorder cable laying around. I was stuck on a female connection to use the same cable in the past off of my receiver. I brought over my 19" Sony LCD TV to confirm if the cable was working and it is.
Next I plugged in my old (very old) camera cable and Wa-La! It works! Lesson learned, stick with a Sony compatible cable adaptor for this TV.

Hope this helps other fellow A1E users.

i was curious about this so did some searching. Seems there is every possible combo of pinout for the 4-pole aka TRRS connector. Seems like Sony requires what commonly is called "camcorder AV" L-V-G-R. I found this a good read with good pictures:

The Zt60 was just retired in my office lounge and was replaced with the Sony 940E as the room has tons of ambient light. I bought one for home and did not care for it at all at home. I am really looking forward to setting up my new A1E and also my recently ordered Oppo 203..

I moved straight from a Kuro to the A1E. Nothing else had honestly tempted me to make the jump in 9 years.

Now, if only there was a market for a Kuro running on 220v as it's just sitting in its box in the garage.

500M to LG (short amount of time owing one because of uniformity and poor customer service) to Sony A1E. If not for uniformity issues my 500M would be long forgotten.

I owned the pioneer elite pro-111fd. The plasma appeared to handle motion better than the A1E but PQ hands down the A1E has it beat.

Hung the new 65A1E last night. It was much easier than I expected it to be. Just needed to secure the kickstand with two small (supplied) brackets. The framework from my Sanus full motion TV mount then fit nicely onto the flat surface.

The picture quality is amazing, even in daylight. I love this TV!

Welcome to the club! I have my 60" Kuro 141FD at a local shop and they claim they've help keep many local Kuros alive & looking good. Fingers crossed! The A1E is the primary TV now but as a bedroom TV, the Kuro should still kick some butt...

When I posted, I forgot that everything I have is running through the Rotel RAP 1580 AVR...Haven't picked up the Xbox X yet but finally decided on which speakers to complement the system and get audio to match the A1E PQ. Decided on the Kef reference 1 over the B&W 804D3... This is such a fun hobby...the speaker cable cost more then my first 3 cars combined...

I'll be an owner of an A1E in the future LOL.

We currently have a 65 inch Samsung in the basement and its only almost 3 years old so no need to replace it yet but when we do its the 65 inch A1E that will be taking its place. After owning Samsung, Sharp and Panasonic Tvs over the years I always hesitated to spend the extra money on a Sony. No more.

We replaced a cheap 720p 32 inch Samsung upstairs with a 49 inch Sony 900E and I could not be happier. Sony's are beautiful and they are the only TV I wish to buy moving forward. And thank my wife for being flexible and not forcing me to spend less for another Samsung
