77A1E randomly turning on in last 48hrs.... this is extremely distressing to me as I don't want anything to burn in... NOTHING has changed in the setup and it's been flawless ... any ideas? I'm doing a software update now in case this would help

Thanks

I changed the screensaver to 5 minutes and "sleep" instead of backdrop .... software update was solid hopefully that solves the problem

Any of you guys experience issues playing Dolby Vision content from a Blu-ray disk?

I have the Dolby Vision demo disk from 2018 & am playing it from my Panasonic UB820 player.

I lose sound after about 15 seconds of the clip playing & then the video becomes choppy.

I see the info bar at the top of the screen like its constantly reconnecting/handshaking with the player.

I am using a 2.6 foot Blue Jeans HDMI cable to connect the player to the TV on HDMI 2. This has no issues passing all other content from other 4K Blu-ray's in HDR & the Netflix app on the player.

I can play Dolby Vision content from Netflix on the TV no problem & some of the clips on the disk play fine but many of them exhibit this issue.

I am running the latest firmware also but this has really got my scratching my head.

I have ripped the disc to my PC & although I cannot view the clips in Dolby Vision they play perfectly fine on my PC.

Hey everyone.

I’m sure you guys have mentioned this before. All of a sudden my a1e won’t power on. Not with the remote nor with the button on the side.

Any ideas for troubleshooting or is it a matter of contacting Sony ?

Thanks

Try unplugging it for a few minutes and then try. I had an issue with mine not booting up and unplugging it worked.
It did go through the android startup then which took it about 2 minutes to turn on.

Unfortunately it hasn’t helped.

I unplugged and left it for 10 minutes. Still won’t turn on. Looks like a faulty PSU so I’ve got Sony coming to look

I am about to try this now with a certified cable. I will see if it solves the issue.

By way of an update. Sony Service tech came out out today and replaced the main board which fixed to fault. No charge from Sony on my 20 month old set.

All up very good service. The fault was logged via the phone on Saturday and by Tuesday has been fixed and the tv working again.

Well done Sony Australia.

Hey guys

I recently noticed a yellow tint on the left side of my A1E. I been using it for almost a year now . I called Sony and sent that pictures of the problem. Do you think they will replace it for me ? It's still under warranty .

Thanks

It says

Android TV™ software update information

Quote:
Updated: 2 July 2019

We’re pleased to announce that the automatic update to Android™ 8.0 Oreo™ will be rolling out to eligible TVs over the coming weeks.

The recommended way to receive this update is by ensuring that the Automatic software download setting on your TV is turned ON. Your TV should then receive the update automatically, in the coming weeks.

Alternatively, you can download the firmware from your TV model’s product page on the support site from mid July 2019, and update your TV using a USB flash memory device.

Please see below for additional information and frequently asked questions about this update.

We thank you for your patience and hope you will enjoy Android™ 8.0 Oreo™.
