LG OLED Windows 10 creator HDR setttings

I know there are many forums with multiple threads on settings. But with this new windows update i thought it would be better to have a separate thread for this specific configuration (windows 10 creator and LG OLEDs, at least the C/B/E series).

Windows recently released their "Creators" update, this now allows HDR to my C6P. but of course, the colors and brightness look horrible if left untouched. i wanted to get some advice, help or settings from others to see what i can do to fix it.

first off, what settings do you have in windows (i use nvidia control panel) (10bit, rgb, 8bit, etc)

as far as HDR for my PC, i figure i will switch between 2 modes. "HDR Standard" for general desktop use (browsing web) and for watching movies/tv shows which i stream through my PC. i would use "HDR GAME" when i start gaming on the same PC.

i did try to configure each of those, the HDR standard seems pretty good for me, but maybe a bit dim for web browsing (which is ok since my room is usually dark), but it looks better for movies/tv.

my game settings are a bit harder to tune. color has to be toned down a lot. and to make it more complicating each game has their own gamma/brightness/sharpness/etc settings. (i have been testing with Ghost Recon Wildlands).

at work, heading out for the weekend from here. so i wont be able to post my current settings for each until tuesday!

Not yet for youtube, but you can watch the 20-30 HDR movies available and the constructors demos.

I would love to see your settings (in nvidia CPL) for HDR.

Can you post a screenshot? Whatever settings i use it ****s up my desktop.

Shouldn't we be able to stay full rgb on desktop and the games should grab full control of the display and set whatever is needed for HDR (now i wonder if have it set to fullscreen )?

on standard mode, i am getting redness in between text. Look in between the "4" and "k" to see what i mean. it goes away if i take the color down to the 20's. but im not sure how to clear it up so its not there.

hopefully this helps you guys, and maybe someone has some better finer tweaks.

my standard mode is a bit dim, but for me its ok since a white browser window can be a bit too bright for me sometimes (the 65inch tv is about 5 feet from me). and i use this mode for movies/tv, i like truly black bars and deeper colors when watching videos. i just want the text to be sharper.

the game settings are pretty spot on for me. maybe a bit more brightness without washing out the blacks would be cool. but otherwise ok.
