Thanks for your replay.
I passed one pixel refresher and the result is most that OK.
The first image is before and the second image is after. The panel is more clean and the band is more little, with my eyes i don't see it now.
The tint is perfect and i not detect any death pixels

Anyway, they are giving me a choice of 3. I haven’t been keeping up on TV tech, so have little ideas about what to expect over the last 3 years of TV tech. Not sure it matters, but 3 years ago I paid $2,800 for my 65 B6. I realize that TVs have really come down in price, but the TVs they’re offering are priced $1,000+ less. Am I missing something?

Here are the choices....

Samsung QN65LS03RAFZA
LG OLED65B8PUA
LG OLED65B9PUA

THOUGHTS? Anyone dealt with this sort of thing with SquareTrade?
Just a quick update.....I now totally love Square Trade. They were going to fix, then replace my 65 B6. Through a bunch of emails, and a delivery of a B9 that was broken on delivery (looked like the driver just through it on the truck), Square Trade delivered a 65” C9 yesterday. Couldn’t recommend Square Trade highly enough.

As stunning as my B6 was, the C9 is even better. Quite pleased!

This is a 65C9 purchased mail order from beach camera. Has about 500 hours on it. 5% gray attached.

While using MS Windows in dark mode and while I have gmail open in a browser window in dark mode the dark band to the right of center presents and is somewhat obnoxious. There is also a single dead pixel in the bottom right 20% of the screen.

I am on the fence for trying to get a replacement from LG or not. It is too late for a return to the vendor. I definitely do not want to deal with the hassle of boxing up and sending a display of this size back in the mail. I sort of regret getting the 65 now as I've read the 55 is much less likely to have uniformity issues and my 55B7 was fine.

Just received my 65' LG C9P today and have put several hours on it. Used the youtube video to test dead pixels and vertical banding.

There's a single pixel that is always black in green slide.

The vertical banding test results are shown in the attached pictures. Can you please help take a look at them? There's a dark area around lower left corner in the 5% gray slide (I post three pics), and it is less noticeable in the 10% gray slide.

Should I try to get a replacement? If yes, do I need to contact LG or the seller? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I’d say get some hours on it and check again, but that looks bad plus a bad pixel. I’d contact the seller first ASAP.

My first Oled arrived yesterday - A 65" C9! Of course my paranoia told me to do this test and now as a consequence am worried about the result. Clue me up - is this good?

For my use case which includes desktop PC use in dark mode it is troublesome. Otherwise, it is difficult to detect the band in TV and movie content.

Had I a do-over, I would have waited and got the 55" from a local vendor (Costco or BB) to reduce the risk of issues and facilitate easier exchanges. After the holidays I may take it up with LG direct however I refuse to box this up and ship it. If a tech can't come to the house, or if they deny the replacement, then I will have no recourse. There is also the risk of getting a replacement with even worse problems.

It is unfortunate that LG seems unable to resolve these manufacturing issues.

@Adamd , after the countless OLEDs you've owned or returned, have you considered just switching to an LCD? You would need to give up the perfect blacks but some of the better LCD models have superior uniformity and much cleaner looking images with fewer artifacts. Outside of demo material, the OLED black advantage isn't even that noticeable since most content is not mastered with zero-level blacks.

Yup I’m tapping out for a couple of years and seeing what lg does. Hopefully they will start driving there panels better like Panasonic does. I still have my 55b7 that’s going strong for perfect blacks. I ordered a Jvc projector today that’s going to replace my 77 oled. It won’t be perfect blacks but going from a 77 oled to a 110 inch screen I’ll give up some blacks.

Yup it’s going back. The 5% was clean but I would see bands daily on lighter blue or tan walls. The banding my set looked better when it was new. As I racked up hours my banding seamed to get worst.

Good choice on the JVC projector. I've owned them for many years and it's the next best display contrast after OLED. I'm assuming you're getting one of the new 4K models? Be aware that no projector is 100% silent. I only mention this because I know you've gone through a nightmare with your LG OLED regarding buzzing noises. Projectors also perform best in purpose built home theater rooms that minimize room reflections that cause washed out images. Good luck and hope you find it more enjoyable than your past OLED experience.

I doubt if they will ever completely fix it. Hopefully owners can get a panel that doesn’t bother them and enjoy the set for the rest of its goodness. Here are my 65B7A, my second 65C8 and my current 65C8 which has stayed consistent for a year now. I don’t notice the uniformity issues in 99% of content and can barely detect them when analyzing on Marco Polo and the beginning of The Martian.

Ive never seen a Jvc but I’m excited to get my room prepped. I had a projector in my house before in a full cave with a song he50es. I’m ok with normal sounds haha. This Jvc will be in my living room, there’s only one sliding door with black out blinds. I won’t be going crazy painting everything dark this time. I’m going to paint some of the surrounding areas a dark blue/grey. Also I’m also thinking of going to get a alr screen since this projector will be used in the day with lights on sometimes.

My android phone camera sucks, but this is my 55" C9 after 1893 hours, as a PC monitor.

I also don't have ISF Dark Mode - Only Technicolor Expert (User)

Must be something to do with the input from PC only allows certain modes.

I will try again.

Since you are using a low PC gamma that's far too light to judge near-black uniformity.

This photo of my c9 65" on a white screen looks a bit more precise than the one I posted earlier. I can notice some yellow tint at the center of the screen (and also a bit near the borders). not sure it's too bad for a 65" panel though.

what do you guys think?

Don't blame ya there. I did the same for a while and then got upgrade-itis. Will not buy again until it's clear that buying a new TV will not further the graying of my hair.

that’s smart I tried again this year and it was 4 or 5 weeks of hell and ended with nothing. I’m taking a 2-3 year break from buying a oled and see what happens.

sorry, I couldn’t understand.

btw, there’s no pink tint on the screen, if the photo gives you that impression it’s only the camera or the angle (I don’t see it though)
