A little disclaimer, please understand I do not take any responsibility if this firmware should fail or damage your TV. It works fine so far on my 55C7V. Those who really wants this firmware should really ask LG for it, so they understand that we want the firmware released for all regions as fast as possible next time.
I live in France and I have contacted the French LG support today. They strongly recommand to not use an unofficial firmware and to wait until the official one.
They said that .36 is not ready yet for the European market and they did not give me any ETA
Well hopefully the file linked was an official, unreleased, euro version of .36.... it installed ok for me, tv running fine in general, although sadly I am still having the arc audio loss issue.
Oddly for me it only affects the tv apps, not any other HDMI channel input on my ysp2700....(although all other sources for me are hd audio and not Dolby).
If the Korean site is ahead of the US, why is the .36 update listed with a date of 1/23/18? I was expecting it to be .(something newer) when I saw that date.
I will post a new thread and one can follow the video I had put up a while ago on how to upgrade your firmware if you one needs help. It's an easy process overall, as of 2-5-18 I do not see anything released yet. Usually I suggest waiting a few days to make sure nobody has reported any issues.
my Netflix app takes forever to load or just hangs on loading and says "we're having trouble playing the title now......" pretty much any time I try to use it lately. Is this a bug? Is there a way to kill the app and restart it?
When you get that error, it's usually a networking issue, so I'd recommend rebooting your modem & router. To kill the app, just unplug the TV for 30-60s or so and plug it in and turn it back on. Do that with all 3 of these and that should sort things out. Forgive my ending 2 sentences with prepositions in a row...
Just received a 2017 C7P manufactured in Jan 2018. US-based and my firmware is at 4.70.50. Fist OLED so no clue what if any differences with the older publicly released 4.70.36
This is typical that new sets coming from manufacturing have newer software then what is out there. I know a release is coming shortly for the rest us, hopefully it fixes all issues that exist and is perfect
What are the chances this upcoming update will fix the audio video sync problems?
I have until the 20th to return this TV. Will these ridiculous AV syc problems ever get fixed? Does anyone know why LG is so bad at this seemingly basic function? Is it really all a software issue or is there some kind of cheap hardware at play here?
When you all are talking about center channel drop outs, are you referring to when, ex. You play Netflix or Amazon and there is no center channel or voice? It's very random correct?
It's actually a 3.1 dropout. 5.1 signals drop the center, both surrounds, and LFE channel, and yes, it's very random and only seems to occur with the built-in streaming apps. Fortunately it can be reset by turning the TV off and on - it doesn't make it any less annoying, but at least there's a workaround.
Received the new XG1v4 dvr box from Comcast yesterday. This replaces a XG1v1. Was hoping this would fix the audio delay issues I was seeing, but unfortunately, that is not the case. Severe audio delays when cable box is set to output audio using Digital Dolby or Export Mode ( new menu item with this box ). Stereo Output selection works find. Making things worse, this v4 doesn't have optical, so I'm stuck with stereo until LG fixes this issue. This is all with the latest US firmware, 04.70.36.
Any chance we can get this listed as a known firmware bug on the master thread? What's the process in getting issues listed in the first post?
so far no updates have been released for the North American models
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
