I have done both ways. And one with a folder name LG_DTV and one with just the drive named that. Maybe your download is corrupt? Is there a md5 file to check?

Drive name doesn't matter...try downloading again? Did you extract directly to the USB drive or to a local drive first?

Someone in another thread said they had to reformat the drive to get it to accept the update - link.

See where it says dimming. Turn this off and your TV instantly gets brighter. Anyone know what that is?

My LG C7 seems to turn itself on a few minutes after we've turned it off by putting our AppleTV (4k) to sleep after this update.

Any idea how to fix this?

No. North america would NEVER let the user have a feature like that. That kind of customer friendly feature is for the rest of the world only.

That setting simply maxes out light to 100 in all modes - disabling the ability to lower the oled luminance

Agreed. I thought maybe the Korean firmware would allow it. Anyone try it?

Many people have used the korean firmware releases and no one has ever seen such a feature on a north american set that I have heard of.

The firmware is the same for them, but the tuner is different (korea has an ATSC 3.0 tuner rather than an ATSC 1.0 tuner), so the firmware would easily know the difference between the two.
