I'm in the U.S. Clarifying, you purchased a 77C8 with a MSRP of 9.999€ for 6.499€? If so, you got a hell of a deal!

The 77C8 appears to be available for purchase in the USA as well. Someone please order and let us know about the uniformity.

So, I’ve been oled for several years now and loving it, but motion clarity was a bigger factor than 3D, so I decided to upgrade. Trying out the Samsung q9fn for the [email protected] 120hz has been amazing, despite the need to bypass my x8500h avr for hdr to work. The input lag is also amazing...the absolute cherry on top would be 120hz bfi.

But if I could get [email protected] for my pc, I’d be thrilled. What’s the likelihood of the c8 getting the ability for external 120hz at non uhd resolutions?

You already have 1080p120 on the last year's model as well as on the 8th model of this year...

Does it do [email protected]? Also, with interpolated bfi would be awesome.

I just returned a Sony z9d that had backlight bleed into the bars and some motion issues, picked up a 65" c8 and I'm loving it so far. What are you guys using for hdr modes? On my 2 year old B6 I used hdr bright for hdr 10 with dynamic contrast off as that appeared to be the brightest non vivid mode. So far I'm liking the technicolor hdr mode but havent done extensive brightness testing between the modes.

It can't do BFI on 120hz, I don't think, since it actually has to generate a frame of black pixels for BFI, rather than an LCD strobing the backlight independent of the pixels.

I would be extremely happy with a 2:1 bfi giving you 80effective hz. That’s a heck of a lot better than 60, flickerwise.

I just tried Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4 Pro) on the C8 in HDR Game mode. I'm not joking this looks like 10 times better than it did on my C6.
Even with BFI it looks brighter than on the C6 and the Dynamic Tone Mapping works very well.
Especially the near black details and transitions from black to non black are so much smoother and nice looking.

Could someone please post a picture of the C8 65 inch stand or just give its measurements? Im on the fence between the c8 or the Samsung Q9 but I have to make sure the C8 stand works for my 33 width stand.

Does the dimming with BFI enabled make it as dim as game mode in the 2017 series?

BFI functionality with 25fps content needs clarification. Are problems apparent only on US sets or they are the same with European sets? If they are, that's a big fail from LG for Europe.

On my B7 I use Technicolor as well. I bump the brightness up to 54 or 55 and put Dynamic Contrast to Low. It really brings the picture alive. Taking my Q9FN back Friday and will be getting the C8 in the next few weeks after some traveling for work and vacation.

LG is now saying that both the 55E8 and the 65E8 are available on line. I’m getting ready to order the 65E8 along with ordering a Marantz 8805, and 4 height focal speakers (IC1002). Let the fun begin.
My only concern getting a LG model, is the upscaling. Since for now, most everyday viewing will not be 4K.
Is Sony that much better? I was hoping the
New alpha 9 processor would take care of it. Has there been any upscaling testing done on the new processor? Thanks in advance. I want to order these upgrades as soon as Possible.

Wish we knew. Not a lot of user reports yet on the below or even compared to the A1E or 2017 LG Oleds. If AL was still on the forum, at least we would hear his opinion already.

Dnice has both OLEDs and multiple flagship LCD's, you will get a factual and accurate summary soon. He already posted last night that the A1E settings carry over well to a A8F, which is what we all thought that it is an A1E with a 2018 panel. And there has been plenty of discussion on in the C8 cal thread on the new cal features of the LG. Al's posts are not, and never were, anything that related to reference viewing. They are actually pretty much hogwash.

From my testing of the C8 and the A1E, the C8 upscaling is excellent but the Sony is still better. The picture is sharper and has more detail.

I can tell you guys with 100% certainly that to my eyes the new a9 matches the x1 extreme. I own a B6, a 930e and a 65c8 (that I exchanged a z9d for yesterday). I loved my B6 but felt it was lacking in some areas, particularly brightness and motion. I didn't really have any issues with the upscaling and to be honest I feel people way over hype the x1 extreme. It's excellent, don't get me wrong, but to my eyes the new a9 is every bit it's match. The 2 most important things to me in my decision to return the z9 were brightness and motion, and the c8 to my eyes improved on both of those by about 50% over the B6. The small highlights are brighter on the C8 for sure, but the most noticeable change to me is in the larger areas. It feels like LG significantly revamped their tone mapping and abl this year, to be far less aggressive. I'm floored at how bright 25% to 50% windows appear to be. I don't have a meter but I wouldn't be shocked if 25% windows were in the 400-600 nit ballpark this year, IMHO.

The two large an not overhyped advantages were smooth gradation and motion, which affect a lot of content. Now LG did add a smooth gradation type feature, the problem is it is coupled into a setting you normally do not want on best I understand. And there is still the motion, which Samsung and LG can't seem to perfect.

It for sure seems brighter though.

I'm always confused about this "better motion on Sony" statement. I mean is this only with Motion interpolation or even if everything is turned off?

Do you guys like to run Techicolor Expert for movies? I've noticed it is set to "Warm 2" by default. Are films really suppose to be this warm in color?
