You mean Sports? Assuming so, it's because the OOTB settings are blown out.

You're better off using Technicolor User, which is what I do.

Yeah, color, temperature and sharpness are set really high. But what I am curious about is that it to my eyes, it seems like the motion in that mode looks more fluid than other modes with motion interpolation on.

My c8 is from southeast asia and the sports mode is labeled soccer.

I'd try the Sanus.com mount finder. They always have a lot of good choices, and there are probably half a dozen that you might like depending on your preferences.

Depending on what you want, but this one I'm using works perfect for close to wall mount with limited tilt.

Because TruMotion is on...just turn it on and custom set your de-judder and de-blur. You'll get a better PQ and the fluid motion you like.

Hey I had my power supply switched out and the new one is much better. Also had my main board switch because of arc dropouts. Before I updated the firmware on the new board arc worked perfect then I updated and I get the same drop outs. It must be a bug in the firmware.

I've had my 65" C8 for a few weeks now and love it. I'm using it with a Denon AVR-S900W receiver and SVS Prime speakers and SVS sub.

In terms of external sources such as Fios cable box/PS4/PS3, is there any benefit to running them first into the C8 and then into the receiver? I appreciate that I can use the C8 to work the cable box etc. and that I would lose this ability if I run the fios signal into the receiver first.

Any pointers here? Note that the receiver is HDMI 2.0 only and I am aware of the optical cable workaround necessary given the 2.2 copy protection issue.

Is there a dedicated command available for the TV to be able to switch between picture modes? I run all my devices through my denon avr, with a single output to my TV.

When I switch to the PS4, and the PS4 alone, I'd like to be able to automatically switch to game mode using my Harmony Remote, without having to create some sort of overly complicated macro that navigates through the menu each and every time I switch to and from the PS4.

Any ideas?

Run everything to your avr via hdmi, than hdmi out to tv. That way you get HD audio from all your sources. If your receiver does not support arc use an optical cable to get sound from streaming apps.

I see from your newer posts you had your main board and power supply replaced and I'm curious if it did fix this issue? I've been discussing this (certain near-blacks flashing up during playback) in the past and recently got a panel replacement but it didn't make a difference.

I mentioned this previously in the thread: I attached the front part of the stand to my wall-mounted 65C8, to improve the audio.

No it did not. There’s the main board power supply and there was also another smaller board that does with the panel I’m not sure what it’s called.

With the Amazon Prime app, Jack Ryan's colours seem oversaturated to me on my 65" C8. This is not an issue with Netflix.

I think it may just be the HDR / Dolby Vision presentation, since the results from my Panasonic DP-UB820 Blu-ray player's Amazon Prime app are exactly the same. Reds seem oversaturated, meaning everyone has luscious lips, etc. In contrast, Netflix and Lost in Space, everyone's skin tones and lips are damn near perfect.

Do you see the same thing on the C8 and up in Jack Ryan?

I received my E8 two days ago and noticed these two rounded, half rectangular shapes on the lower left side of the screen on the first night. Is this some sort of burn in or just defective? The panel only has ~12 hours and I’ve been babying it to make sure there I’m not watching stuff with static images.

I ran the pixel refresh last night but it didn’t do anything for this.

Any suggestions?

I have a 77" C8. The panel has a slight buzz sometines when transitioning between black screens. I'm curious if the 65" C8s do this also. It's probably normal for this tv. I'm guessing it's PS and fans are just bigger than the smaller sets (therefore louder). I can't hear it when my sound is active. Not even close to being bad enough for me to return it.

Not that I've specifically listened for it, but I have never noticed this with the 65" C8, even when there was no audio playing.

Furthermore, I've only ever seen this reported with the 77". It sounds like it may be restricted to the 77".

Yeah that’s how mine is now and is much better then it was.this is very common with the 77s. I went through 4 77 and 2 of them had a very loud buzz. On any medium apl scene I could hear it over the tv 12 feet away. Sounded like someone running the tap in the next room. I had one that was almost silent and never made a sound even going through screens but I’m ok with how mine is now as long as it does not get on my nerves.

Do you see the same thing on the C8 and up in Jack Ryan?

Yes; I have the exact same observation with this on my 77C8, which I attribute to the panel's OOTB HDR/DV settings. In fact, I've been using Jack Ryan to assess this.

I've spent a bunch of time dialing in my SDR settings (Technicolor Expert, and the two ISF modes), and have been trying to do the same with HDR/DV. In fact, I've posted earlier in this thread about it.

Until I get a professional calibration, I am inclined to modify some settings to be similar to what is working for SDR. Specifically, adjust the White Balance in the two Dolby Vision modes (Home and User) to what I have in SDR.

Thoughts?

Do you notice this in Netflix as well? Because for Lost In Space Netflix, my Cinema Home (User) settings look fine. I haven't changed much in Cinema Home at all, aside from making sure all the motion interpolation is off and stuff like that.

I only notice this in Amazon Prime (both with my C8 and my Panasonic UB820 4K player).

Random thought at a glance: Those look like "impressions" from the styrofoam piece that is packed around the panel. Seem to have the same design and spacing.

It’s really depending what’s on screen if it will make any sound. It will make sound when it’s a very dark scene or when going from a pure black screen to another scene. It is possible to get one that makes no sound though I had one.

I can hear some noise at the start of the new blade runner here and there. It has to do with how your room is too I think how sound bounces off walls.

Yes, it's probably directly related to the size, but nonetheless I'd still consider it a design flaw if its as common as it seems like it might be.

One of the biggest things I've (not?) noticed with my C8 is how quiet it is. This is a nice change from my projector. My Sony VPL-HW45ES projector is very quiet in Eco mode, but not silent. And it's only moderately quiet in non-Eco mode.

In contrast, with the 65" C8, when there is no audio, it's 100% silent in the room.

Oh and the other thing is when it fades to black, the C8 looks like it's off. With the projector it was a giant grey screen. That just drove me up the wall. The combination of black and silent is a powerful one, and much more powerful than I might have imagined. Black with buzzing would irritate me.

I sit 7.5' from my 65" C8.
