I know about that but I don't think it's safe to upgrade to UK version if I'm not in UK.

Has anyone spent enough time with or seen the right pictures of the C8/B8 to know if the B8 stand could potentially fit on the C8?

So wait, are you saying there is a SM adjustment that will stop full screen dimming on a C8? I must have missed that.

Did the strength/agressiveness of ANSD change wth the new FW?

To check whether the C9 also has ANSD, is the test just to watch Fox News for ~10 minutes? Is there any OLED Light setting that makes ANSD most evident?
I think watching Fox or CNN for a few minutes with the OLED light at 60-70 will clearly show this as long as the typical large, white, triggering lower 1/3rd graphics are displayed.

Mine kicks in within 1-2 minutes of a talking heads static scene.

I am trying to downgrade the firmware and I am not sure where I am going wrong.

I still have a copy of the unzipped .epk file for 4.10.15, so I put that in a folder named "LG_DTV" on a usb. I plugged the usb into my TV and then selected Softare Update on the SURE app, but the firmware file is not visible.

Help! Thanks in advance.

Don't have it in front of me but try ticking the box on the lower right side of the update screen

British parlament don´t know what to do with EU, still they are in, at least to next week

Asked many times 04.10.15 fw directly from Nordic LG but they refuse to give download link and they keep saying it´s impossible to downgrade...even so I explained this situation very clearly
Sad they dont have technical customer support, feels that AI pick answer from FAQ list.

Maby could upload that e.g. to OneDrive and give link?
Is it only one version for whole EU (except Brexit)?

thanks... i seemed to get the sharpest image following suit but increasing OLED to about 30 and on the 2 point setting R&G -10 and then B +10. Seemed to give me the best balance of picture warmth and sharpness. Brights are warm enough but not yellow and facial features like beard stubble pop being a tad color than standard.

also, gamma at 2.2 made a MASSIVE difference for me. just a much more natural picture. Took a few minutes to get used to as toggling between 2.2 & .1886 make the image much more washed our at first. but after allowing my eyes to adjust, definitely creates a more refined and detailed image compared to just contrast pop of .1886

thanks!

did you unzip the file?...if not unzip and put the starfish file on the USB in the LG_DTV folder. Then use the SURE app to select software update. Worked for me.

Last question

Does anyone here use Super Resolution for low quality Directv content? I have gone back and forth between off and every setting but my mind is starting to play tricks on me. Sometimes I see no difference, sometimes I think I may possibly see an improvement and sometimes I think it makes it worse. Any suggestions?

Lastly, am I going to lose fine detail by enabling MPEG on low for Directv? If I get close to the screen it does look like it makes a small difference, but again, as the scene changes, i'm more and more confused.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the help!

Disabling "dimming" in the service menu will put your oled-light permanently to 100. I don't think this is something one should do, whether it helps with ANSD (Automatic News Station Dimming) or not...

TPC off or on in the service menu does not make a difference for me except that during no movement during dark scenes, the C8 does not dim (make even darker) the picture with TPC off. It probably aldo won’t do it with a white screen, and if that is at OLED light 100 it may cause issues if for a long time. However OLED light still works so using ISF dark at OLED light 25 with a white screen that does not dim, probably has less issues to expect.

I have bought my C8 beginning this year. It had .20 pre installed and I live in the Netherlands. It might be a uk set, I don’t know, but I bought it in Holland (MediaMarkt). I expect that .20 also runs on EU models. However I cannot guarantee.

Is .15 US version the same in Canada?

When I got my tv I updated immediately so I have no idea what was the PQ with the .15.

The consensus now is to rollback to .15?
