The Costco Concerirge was great, but I felt like he was just going through the motions and flowcharts with me (In essense, Have you tried turning it off and back on again?) Well guess what? That's pretty much what ultimately fixed it. Specifically:

-Turn off the LG
-Unplug the TV
-Push and hold the On/Off button (back left side) for 30 Seconds.
-Plug it back in, turn it back on, and voila... no stuck pixel.

Now I'm wondering if im more prone to get it back again. I hope not. Thanks to all who tried to help me.
Unfortunately this fix lasted less than two weeks, and now that stuck red pixel is back. hat fix isn't working this time. I'm reluctant to call the Costco Conceirge back because his flowcharts are bound to have me update the firmware (I've been delaying that).

My Costco 90 days end June 2nd. I'm frustatred because I paid to have the TV wall-mounted and I'm not sure how to remove it, or how I'd transport it back to Costco. Any advice?

You can't just tell folks to not upgrade to .31 - that update saved my C8 from ending up in the trash. Its worked well for a number of owners, most issues with near black can be adjusted out easily with a few IRE value changes.

Look at the documentation for the wall mount to see how it's put together. Reverse the steps to remove the TV from the mount. You'll need two people to do it. They're not quite as fragile as they look, but, obviously some caution is required. The packaging Styrofoam makes handling it a bit easier as far as handling the panel goes. Transport it standing up in the original box. I'm sure if you lay it flat and don't have too far to go it would probably be fine. To have it standing up in the box, you'll need a pretty big vehicle to transport it. A boxed 65" TV will not stand up in the back of my Expedition, so a mini-van or something else with a high roof and low floor will be necessary.

Well netflix has a fair bit of 4K content.

And the MPAA claimed that there are now more subscribers of streaming services than cable/satellite, so perhaps the broadcasters are simply making themselves irrelevant.

I agree for the most part about copying settings. The only people I would copy settings from are people that calibrate a lot of a particular set and are willing to share settings or tendencies. If a calibrator sees dozens of C8's and on most he needs to change the ISF Dark Red on the 2 point white balance to -8 or so and the Blue to -5 or so to get the grayscale calibrated properly then I would try those settings. To me I would have a better chance of an accurate picture in that scenario vs the default settings.

Does anyone notice that the whites on their C8 take on a blue/green tint at wider viewing angles? Is this normal?

Sorry, this is my first OLED so i'm not sure what I should expect and I can still return it if need be. Appreciate any advice on the matter.

The latest firmware:
4.10.60 - stable? - still too soon to tell, not everyone can download it yet
4.10.31 - stable? - no, people have reported various issues with it.
4.10.06 - stable? - yes

Settings:
Stick with 3 picture modes
Game --> When you're gaming, otherwise, use the other two
technicolor Expert
isf Expert(Bright or Dark)

Turn off both Energy Saving mode and TruMotion

A couple of forum members have graciously posted their spectrometer calibrated settings for their C8s. Please note that we don't recommend that you copy their luminance settings as there's variance in TV sets which would mean that their settings may NOT work for you. This is just a starting point. Reset back to default if you don't like it.

Chronitis
My main settings are:
isf dark
OLED light 28
Brightness 50
Contrast 85.
Gamma 2.4

20 point luminance adjustments:
5) +12
10) +14
15) +12
20) +10
25) +8
30) +6
35) +7
40) +4
45) +3
50) +4
55) +6
60) +3
65) +2
70) +5
75) +6
80) +3
85) -2
90) -3

jk82
jk82 posted the following difference from Chronitis, you may be able to find a setting in between the two that look better on your set
5: +13
10: +16
15: +12
20: +10
25: +9
30: +6
35: +3

If you're experiencing stuck pixels, here's a potential fix. Although some are reporting that the fix is not permanent.
-Turn off the LG
-Unplug the TV
-Push and hold the On/Off button (back left side) for 30 Seconds.
-Plug it back in, turn it back on, and voila... no stuck pixel.
Ok, made a couple of edits.

I'm breaking my own rule by reposting your post. The last thing IMO we need is a post getting reposted over and over every few pages. That just clogs up the thread. I've been on AVS a long time, its pretty darn easy to use the search function. Usually when I'm using it, I"m hunting down something else for a member who isn't using it

I feel like we're going around in circles. We just witnessed that people who are not regulars don't have time to wade through 50 pages just to get basic information. Furthermore, regulars posters get angry to have to answer the same questions over and over. The most important post going forward will be this FAQ post since infrequent members will pop in to check to see if there's any new information that they need to consider in order to support their C8.

Since we can't pin this FAQ as a sticky at the beginning of the thread, it's better to have it trailing the most current posts by no more than a few pages. We want a single source for truth for the C8 from members and this is it.

I've been a member for a long time. I'm surprised that they haven't implemented this feature on this forum but it would be great if every Owner's thread employed this FAQ post method. It saves people a lot of time.

Break-In Slides

Getting LG C8 77" tomorrow. Plan on running Break-In Slides from D-Nice from this previous post: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/40-ol...l#post56632194 . Never had plasma nor OLED before.

Just place unit in Vivid mode, place slide show on fast speed (using usb drive with OPPO203: 4k, 422/24p, 12bits) and run for 100 hrs ... due compensation every 24 hrs (... by turning off LG ... wait 10 minutes for compensation to finish, then turn LG back on and continue until 100 hrs pass). Sound right?

P.S. Dug into the weeds when these slides were used for plasma tvs ... they absolutely required doing some sort of white balance cal first ... D-Nice had specific settings for specific plasmas. Don't need to do this with OLEDs right? Thx.

It is up to you but I see no reason to do it unless you want to get the hours up for a pro calibration , break in is really not required imo . Just watch , vary content and you are good.

I think it would be best to petition the mods and see if they can add jcc's post as a sticky. His efforts are appreciated but reposting it every time there is an addition/deletion/correction is tedious and probably a waste of time. Posting multiple settings is very confusing for newbies and even some of the regulars, and makes navigating an already long thread even longer. Using a link to the original post is fine but the post itself will only get longer and longer and if quoted, will only add to the confusion. Basic settings, like rtings.com and what's been posted before to help with an update is fine, but calibration settings, and more detailed settings should be discouraged. If someone wants calibration settings, just pm the poster.

The problem with that plan is that you're then relying on a single person to make the adjustments/updates/corrections. The trailing method is great because any member can keep the post updated and the most recent FAQ post would be considered the most relevant. I may not hang around to keep it updated.

Everyone should contribute!

P.S. People should always quote the last FAQ post and not the original if you want to edit. The last FAQ post that you see would be considered the most accurate.

So is 04.10.60 for C8 an actual thing?

Also, for those who don't know, you can put a spoiler tag around the quote with the FAQ's (or any lengthy quote for that matter), which means you can see the FAQ by clicking the spoiler tab, but we won't have lengthy posts with the same FAQ quote set forth over and over. Quoting it again and again fills up pages with the same lengthy quoted material 20 times over. They use the spoiler tag a lot on threads about projectors where people wish to re-quote lengthy posts or pictures. It saves a lot of space.

I got my OLED65C8 in late January/early February and at the time it had 04.10.15 and was very happy with the ISF Expert(Dark Room) setting for SDR content. I updated the firmware when 04.10.31 was available for a USB update, and to me the ISF Expert(Dark Room) setting got darker and I lived with it for a week to see if it would grow on me, it didn't so I switched to ISF Expert(Bright Room) and was better to my eyes but not as good as when I was on 04.10.15. Now that I've turned on "Engineering Mode" and updated to 04.10.50, I'm back to using the ISF Expert(Dark Room) setting and yes I believe it to be every bit as good as 04.10.15 and I'm happy again. I've not yet been prompted for 04.10.60, but if/when it does I'll probably leave well enough alone until ChadB comes to calibrate and do what he recommends.

I just decided I’d add in my opinion on the FAQ posts.. I generally don’t post my opinions on things but I’m truly grateful to jcc for proposing and enacting this. With the spoiler tag I truly think it something great that is lacking and could do a lot of good to people not visiting this quickly moving forum daily for all of the many changes and questions. I believe having this maybe on each page being just one line with a spoiler tag would clog it up WAY less than the multiple repeat questions. On my old tv forum there was like a monthly FAQ/changes posted by a member that was fantastic and I really thought it was great and could be great here. I just think even with searching it’s very easy to get lost in this forum so I love the idea of having a consistent base or organized important information. I truly think it would help a lot especially for repeat questions and people growing frustrated. As I said, I never post my opinions but thought I might since I really love the idea and have missed it from a previous forum that was very popular with something like this. Am very grateful to jcc.

I downloaded 4.10.50 tonight. So far things look good. I think MPEG Noise Reduction is working again as I see reduced noise as I toggle. Still waiting for a crummy quality graduated background to test with.

I did see one odd thing, the Black level setting said Auto but when you go into the setting low and high are the only options, no auto. After that auto was gone.

Need more time to see how black levels look.
