For the slides you can just go to YouTube and search for uniformity slides and use those

Yes, unfortunately I hear it’s a lottery to get it fixed. Mine is quite audible from the main listening position. Are most peaiple just living with it?

I know some have tried to have it replaced or return for a new TV but I don't think many got anything much better.

Also for the uniformity slides make sure your TV has at least gone about 200 hours so it reaches a break-in point anything before that, you might not see a perfect uniformity but it may get better after the breaking period

I just had mine replaced, it's completely quiet now. It's worth a try imo, doesn't cost you anything if you're in the warranty period.

I tried pixel refresher last night but still there this morning, I ran pixel refresher again this morning and will check when I get home in the afternoon.

There are youtube videos that might fix it but not sure if it will really fix since I ran one for about 30 minutes and still there

I had a green dot the other night but ran the pixel refresher when I went to bed and it was gone following morning.

Thanks. Great news. I hope the fix involves deeper tweaks and improvement (maybe better dithering) then just playing with some values as a workaround . I guess some of the test builds will be on the Test channel (Engineering Mode) soon
I hope it means I don’t have to deal with near black uniformity issues again.

I’m curious to see what happens to the panel uniformity and banding after break in is completed.....do you think this will improve some? To me that doesn’t look very good an is noticeable during dark scenes.

Does anything on your set work? , dv is broken , your set buzzes and has banding issues might want to just hang it up . How many hours do you have on the set ?

Hahaha....I tend to have this type of luck actually. I’m not sure how many hours I have as I’m not home but I would guess Probably 20hrs. Just got is Saturday. I know not to judge until 200hrs but this looks pretty poor to me. Agree?

Until it runs a few comp cycles I wouldn’t even check , at most it’s run 5 probably a lot fewer . My set is very uniform I had some nasty black blotching at the top when I first got it but it gradually disappeared by 50 hours or so . I know it’s hard to wait but I think it will be okay . Did you ever figure out the DV issue?

Ok I will be patient until I get to 200 hrs. Still should be within the return window so it should be fine. I have not figured out the DV yet lol

So, besides waiting for 200 hours, here's the important question.....do you see the banding and non uniformity while you are watching any programs? That is the important part. If no, I really wouldn't sweat it until you are at 200.....and then still.....do you see it while watching normal programs. No panel will be perfect. Good luck and I hope you get your set fixed to where you can enjoy it,

I'm sure you don't. Horrible system. I'm glad we had the vastly superior PAL over here
And yes, I think it would count. Also interlacing is actually a very sophisticated 70-year-old compression system, which allows for an automatic compromise between super-smooth motion and high temporal resolution, and then when things move less, a higher spatial resolution.

Pixel refresher fixed my dark color uniformity issues. They were ugly too. Ran 96 hrs of breaking slides.

I actually do notice when watching Netflix programs where there are dark scenes. I’m running full frame movies on repeat for the next few days (no constantly obviously) to get some hours logged on the unit! Hope it improves!

I can assure you that is not the only know issue without a resolution. Seems like some people are prone to the hum and others are not. With this said if it is extreme LG will swap the power supply as another member posted.

Again, so far (since my purchase about 2 months ago) the only anomaly I've noticed is a thin horizontal ray of light across the very bottom of my screen when watching programs on NBC. It is most noticeable during dark scenes and especially when the display turns all black when cutting to a commercial. I don't like it but I can live with it, for 95% of my viewing is on other channels, watching Blu-rays, or streaming from Amazon Prime.

My only suggestion is that NBC's broadcast contains the white boarder in their own picture, and they are banking on people cropping it using overscan on their TVs.
If it happened on every channel, I would suspect your STB.

What do you mean by "latest"? Nothing has happened that's official lately. Shortly after the .31 firmware was released at the start of March, he tweeted that LG were looking into the gamma problem (crushed near black) and advised people to hold off calibrating for the time being. But that was weeks ago. We've been waiting for LG. Unless you expected him to keep tweeting "yep, keep holding off"

But stop press! Today, someone posted to a forum that LG had told them there'd be a "fix for the gamma problem" (crushed near-black) in two weeks if it passes testing. Maybe you meant that? I posted it earlier. No-one knows any more, that one is a "developing story"
