CEC is a crap shoot. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, usually after an update. There really isn't anything you can do other than use the Lindy CECless adapter if you still need to use ARC. Other than that, disable ARC/CEC on all of your HDMI connected devices and use an optical cable from the tv to the receiver for your on-board apps and a Harmony remote for single remote control of your HTS.

Good thing for the warranty, that will happen from time to time with electronics, if it persists file a claim especially before the warranty is over.....

watched the Yankee game last night and the College football game in 4K via the Fox Sports app on my Fire stick.Looked damn good on my 55E8. I liked the fact that there were no commercials, only a view of the ball park between innings. I know it did not say it was a 4K telecast but the live racing from Belmont Park was gorgeous and it did show 4K reception in the top left screen reading for the input.

Any word if ESPN will do any of their upcoming Monday Night Football games in 4k?

Hi there.
Can anyone tell me what could be wrong with the picture on my oled? (If I'm not in the right thread, please let me know which one is)

Jacket on samsung is the same color (1st picture), oled c8p is 2nd and 3rd picture
https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...82NWdjYzBxTWNn

Chair color - Samsung brown, oled green
https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...FkOGpGdlU0bHRB

The chair issue - I guess it's settings, it's also green on my lcd computer monitor. But the jacket is weird.

I'm using cnet\tvratings settings on LG. Pictures taken from youtube video at ~~1min
Thanks

Every panel is different so using setting from a website isn't all that reliable. A professional calibration would likely correct any color issues you think you are seeing.

Is this a trick question?
Your Samsung is heavily pushing blue and is lacking green.

If you want your Oled to look like your Samsung just forget about any settings like the one from rtings. The Vivid picture preset is what you're looking for.

Judging from those pics, of the two TVs, the OLED is actually the one with the closest to correct image.

Guys, I'm sorry I guess I wasn't clear. Please look at the jackets on first link. The jacket on LG has two colors, like the screen area is damaged where the right shoulder is. I just ran the YouTube burn-in test patterns and it is not likely burn-in is an issue here

I understand colors can be drastically different between screens (like color of the chair), but not on the same jacket

Thanks

ARC not working (C9)

Hi, recently I bought LG OLED C9 together with Marantz SR5013 receiver. I wasn't able to set ARC working so I returned Marantz and gave a chance to new Onkyo TX-NR696.

Now ARC is working but only if I have one HDMI cable connected, the main one that goes from Onkyo HDMI ARC port (out) to LG HDMI 2 port (ARC).

If I connect one additional HDMI cable to AV receiver, for example PS4 HDMI to GAME port of the AV receiver, ARC immediately stops working and TV switches sound from the 5.1 speakers to TV speakers. When I plug out the HDMI cable from GAME port after few seconds ARC begins to function and sound comes out from 5.1 speakers. It happens even if PS4 is in stand-by mode.

To make it more complicated, if I plug directly HDMI cable from PS4 to TV HDMI1 port (so not to go via AV receiver) the same thing happens and ARC stops working so this must be due to LG. This is strange and I cant' find logic behind this. Where's the catch and is there something that I could try? Currently I'm using 1.4 HDMI cables. I also tried with 2.0 cable (cheap model) and the problem was the same.

LG C9 is too expensive TV to have such a problematic ARC.

Thanks. I hope they do. Are any of the 4k college games on the ESPN app or which app would you need? We don't have Comcast so if that's needed we're out of luck.

That's a bummer. We recently moved to a different state & would like to follow our old home teams. DirecTV has a lock on NFL Sunday ticket which we'd gladly pay for but don't want anything to do with DirecTV as they want to lock you into their services. They will sell Sunday ticket to stream to you if your location prohibits dishes, etc. The NHL does it right. You can buy their streaming service as home team only package or all teams. When selecting a game you have a choice for home or away announcers. PQ is 720-60P I'm guessing & looks as good as any ESPN or FOX Sports.

I think it just corrected an issue with Vudu or Hulu playback. Nothing to do with pq as as I know.

No news, still can't do it & unless someone finds a hack, most likely ain't gonna happen.

It works with the sure app on my C9 though. Sucks that the C8 is blocked

It seems that as soon as they get to a 5. Version they no longer allow for downgrading. It was the case on my B6 and C8.

I got sick of being prompted to update to the new Firmware so I went ahead and downloaded it. It took all of 2-3 minutes to load. I see zero differences in PQ...it's absolutely beautiful as always!

You can downgrade on a B6 with FW 5.40.03.

Hi Guys

Few weeks ago I wrote here regarding my issue. I installed Korean software version 05.10.03 after the update my tv stopped finding any programmes via antenna. I hoped that after release of now firmware which is no available 05.10.20 my problem will be solved. However i am not able to install it via USB nor system is not finding it online. I discovered that there are two programming systems USA and Korea use ATSC however we in Europe have DVB. Unfortunately i did not know that and installed ATSC version on my European C8 unit. That’s probably the reason why i cannot programme any programmes via antenna. What’s more even that there is higher firmware version the system does not see it as I am on ATSC trying to install DVB. If i copy ATSC new firmware version on pendrive TV recognizes it.

That’s how American software file looks like
starfish-atsc-secured-o18-56.glacier.o18-5624-05.10.20_prodkey_usb_V3_SECURED.epk
and below European one
starfish-dvb-secured-o18-56.glacier.o18-5624-05.10.20_prodkey_usb_V3_SECURED.epk

Firmware downgrade function is still not working, as I was able to change my DVB software from 04.10.55 firmware to ATSC 05.10.03 I believe if it was available I could return to DVB firmware. Maybe is there any other way to change tuner setting in service menu? Really appreciate your help because I don’t see any available solution for my case, unless there will be firmware downgrade available again but who know if it will work.
