As for the firmware, the latest seems to be fine, you should be ok with that.

LG C9, C8, C6 w/Pioneer SC-LX502 AVR, Xbox One X, PS4 Pro & Nintendo Switch
Are those the original settings that were posted when the C8 first came out or have they been modified since then to reflect the firmware update changes?

If anything has changed, they usually list it in the comment section or on the website.

These are just suggestions, everyone likes something different. You can use this as a base and make adjustments to your liking.

Your welcome, just check the pinned comments in the comment section of the you tube videos. If there are update or changes to the settings, they usually post a comment there. You can check the rtings website too for setting updates

Yeah, I used the recommended basic settings when I first got my C8 over a year ago and I've had to make very few changes since then. I got very lucky with my panel. I'll have to check the website out and see if anything has changed. Just thought you might have known. Thanks.

I actually haven't made changes either since those settings & I haven't checked the site in a few months myself.

The bride said the 42" plasma was too big 13 yrs ago but got used to it then the 55" was too big now same viewing distance 2.6m I reckon a 77" would be perfect

ps: I shortened the viewing distance from 3.0m to 2.6 to help get that cinematic experience

Samsung is the world’s largest producer of OLED panels, but they are small & used on high end phones like the latest IPhone Pro models. Samsung tried to make TV sized panels but could not figure out how to get the price down & gave up, LG was able to figure it out. They may also give up on the MicroLed

Yep. I just checked the website for the hell to it tonight and just saw it.
These are the notes:

[05.10.40]
1. Add HEVC logo to user guide

Will wait until there's feedback from others as I have been doing since 4.10.15 although I don't expect this update to be anything other than routine.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I watch zero news channels on it so this should not be an issue. Just crossing my fingers it should be okay since I switch up the logo’s pretty constantly.. it’s never on the same for even 2 hours at a time and when I binge it’s netflix with no logo’s or a longer movie. So here’s to hoping!

Had that version for a week now, no issues here. The logo literally does seem to be the only difference!

^^ BTW what is wrong with updating when you first see the indication. If you look at the update it has nothing to do with the picture (maybe they are vague, but..). Also I do not see any picture differences with the new updates like some of the bionic eye folks on this forum!

It sure would seem very expensive. The reports I've read said MicroLEDs blacks were equal to OLED but much brighter overall. That would be something to see in your home!

But, where there's a will, there's a way. Experts said TVs with [email protected] would be the "Holy Grail" of video not long ago but doubted it would ever happen. Now there's that & [email protected] $1300 mirrorless camera (need a lens, so more $). I'd bet someone has a [email protected], too. May not be consumer level but it's out there someplace.

Okay, maybe not MicroLED but something equal to it that can be brought to the masses. Can't wait!
