I also have this question about sharpness, tv is ag9 but they use same processor, so this setting should apply to the a9f too. i have reality creation set to manual 30. Im not being able to set the sharpness setting. 50 with some hdr content can create noise and if i lower the sharpness, some sdr content looks too soft. And the sharpness setting is shared between sdr and hdr10. So im stuck what this sharpness setting number should be at. I havent looked at a sharpness test pattern but it will only tell about ringing and noise across white lines, it won't address sdr content looking too soft with a low sharpness setting.
I want to know from the experienced users of af9, what sharpness setting are you using? (with reality creation set to manual 30) ??

Ok I love the TV but cannot stand the tilt. I do not want to mount on the wall and need my soundbar to go in front of it. Anyone know if the stand listed here would work? If not anyone have any suggestions of another one that would work.

I also can’t stand the tilt and I also just got this set last week. I ordered this one which should be here at the end of the week:

I think it should work. I’ll update the thread then

Viper32 We mounted out A9F 65in in a corner and used a corner mount. I positioned the mount to be about 4in above a corner AV cabinet so I could place a media player on top of the cabinet. Works out really well for our needs.

I wall mounted mine (65), and by the looks of the vesa mounting holes etc on that stand, I'd say it will work. It isn't overly heavy when you take the stabilising weight off the tilt stand. Hopefully you've still got the screw that locks the tilt stand back onto the back of the screen, it'll still work without it, but it's a piece of mind safety thing.

Are the screws different in length/diameter than the 3 used to secure the stabilizing base plate?

The one I'm talking about is unique - they refer to it as "WM" in the manual, it shipped in the bag of screws etc in the box.

I looked through the manual but it doesn’t list the size and diameter of the screw. I can ask at Lowe’s if they can approximate the dimensions if you would like. I have to go there at some point this week.

Wow, 5.95 plus 8.95 shipping for a screw. That is crazy. I will try to make one myself in the shop.

If someone could give me the below dimensions that would be great.

Just an FYI, but if you are under any kind of warranty and something happens because of your home made screw you may be pun intended screwed...

If you order that Sony official part and keep a receipt of it showing it’s official you should be good to go. Just something to keep in mind!

I agree with @jmhilden , it's cheap insurance and warranty-proof to use the correct screw.

Before you purchase one, where ever you go to buy it, I would check with your local Best Buy/Magnolia store and see if they have one in a drawer possibly left over from a display install.

Yeah I was also going to suggest you go check out some other a/v stores and see if you can just find an extra one.

I'm already apprehensive about getting this TV stand for 30 bucks and I just hope its well built and sturdy. I would get one from Chief/ or Peerless but none of the known brands make a tabletop replacement stand...

I will ask at Best Buy but not likely. Anyways I manage a machine shop, just part of my job. So I am sure we can duplicate that screw easily. I also can't imagine what this screw could cause to create a warranty issue either.

I guess you either don't value your own time very much, or you have equipment to make a screw in 10 minutes.

Sure would be nice if dimensions were included, but perhaps they want to be sure the dimensions and material are all correct to make sure it has the right strength.

Sony announced that this year's master series will get Apple HomeKit support via a future firmware update. Any chance they'd extend it to us as well?

I doubt there is any technical reason they couldn't do it. But would they want to or do they want it to be a differentiator between this years model and last years model? I guess it depends if marketing thinks giving it to existing customers is worth it for future loyalty from those customers versus making people want to buy the new model instead.

I turned everything off that sounded like extra nonsense lol. Still looks incredible and way better than I imagined for 1080p etc.

For audio I had been using my Zeppelin Wireless, which has beautiful sound quality but is intended as a wireless speaker. Recently though have switched to just the Acoustic TV audio... while less articulate, it has good breadth/sound stage and is just a really cool feature.
It seems cumbersome to use an external soundbar / single speaker with this TV, especially when the built in option is so elegant

I'm currently also using the acoustic screen as my center channel. I read that this thing comes with 'subwoofers', but I cant find any sort of setting to enable or disable them. I have the binding posts hooked up to my receiver, but the only sound options available to me are either use the TV speakers, or use external audio. So I guess the subwoofer portion doesn't work if you use the TV screen as a center channel? I mean I have a subwoofer already but I'd still like to know if I can get more bass out of the TV.

But it’s a major pain since I then have to re-do all of my Activities that use the A9F (pretty much all of them). I’m also going to set my A9F to a static IP address in case a DHCP address change caused by a router reboot broke the link with the Harmony. You might consider doing the same to see what happens.
Just one further thing with this solution. I had tried deleting and readding the A9F from the Harmony many times, and it would NEVER find it via IP again.
I changed the name of the TV from "Living Room TV" (on the A9F Settings -> About -> Device name) back to "XBR-65A9F" and lo and behold the Harmony found the TV first time. So for some daft reason, Logitech have made it that the TV must be called the product name it is referred to in the Harmony databse. OMG that's frustrating.

Sony XBR-65A9F, Sony UBP-X700, Denon AVR-890 (cooled by AC Infinity AIRCOM T10), Apple TV 4K, HDFury Vertex, B&W 600 series & LM1s in 7.1 config, Harmony Elite
