Well there is a 77" model, which is nice. No mention of 2.1 though, which would be unfortunate. A 77" A9F with all the HDMI 2.1 features would be sublime.

So A8G OLED is the entry version of Sony's OLED. A replacement for A8F.

The A9G is replacement for A9F.

No, A9G has the same X1 Ultimate chip as the A9F according to flatpanelshd.com . We will know more about other specs, hdmi later in the show.

i may still upgrade my lg c7 to an a9g. to keep it for a few years.. my guess when lg finally releases a new type of panel (ie top emissive oled panels) there gonna have kinks and flaws like the first gen oled panels.. it will take a few years to prefect them. so i can get a few years out of the a9g

And added Dolby Atmos on the A9G, while leaving it out from the expensive A9F....

Will this use the 2019 LG panel and support the updated BFI mode? If not, this is just a repackaged A9F.

Sony 55A9F
LG 55B6

Oh ok. I was just going off the video you posted from them where it says X1 Ultimate.
Funny how the announcer pronounces it Sonny instead of Sony. Maybe it’s a brit thing.

Question

Well, it appears that the new series here is NOT another "leaner backer." I wonder how that will now work as a wall mount?

No, you’re spreading misinformation.
The A9G using the same processor X1 Ultimate. The Audio System received the +.
It’s the same processor found in the A9F.

A9G Sony’s site lists “Picture Processor X1 Ultimate”

Price it lower than the af9, the launch price of the af9 was ridiculous i think, and have hdmi 2.1
It will still be 4k though, sony's only 8k tv for now seems to be z9g.

well if all that changed was the stand/ casing id imagine its going to be exactly prices the same as the a9f. the a9f will just magically vanish. which is a very odd short life.. but i guess the z9f also had a short life... as there is an a8g for the lower end market.

^ That's rad picture quality.Very nice image and colours (see 0:16 in the vid as example)

I hope it's not an aesthetics difference only from af9, it looks a little brighter than the af9 but cannot conclusively say from a youtube video and the camera exposure.
