77" LG C9 or Sony A9G?

If the price difference isn’t a concern which TV should I go for?
Sorry if this thread has been posted before but I can't seem to trace it, if so.

My Viewing Environment
-80% of the time I'm watching in a pitch-black room

My Usage
-Mainly Netflix, Apple TV, and Blu Rays
-I sometimes will pop in DVDs of old/nostalgic animated shows
-I use Oppo UDP 203 as my media player
-If I do game daily it usually is no more than one hour and never more than two
-I mainly game on the Nintendo Switch
-On most weeks, I will probably not game more than 3 times a week

My current TV is the LG OLED E6 65"

My understanding is A9G has a more accurate/life-like image and better upscaling (which could make my DVDs and Blu Rays look better).
Whereas C9 has that higher peak brightness and HDMI 2.1 gaming benefits (which can come in handy when I game).

Will the C9's extra brightness be convenient or noticeable in a pitch-black environment?
Will, I even notice C9's gaming features given that I am not a hardcore nor a competitive gamer?

I also love a vivid/slightly oversaturated image (not Samsung-level oversaturation though). I hear some saying that the C9 has that due to it's higher peak brightness whereas others say the A9G has that due to its pixel booster.

What do you guys suggest?

A9G. Pixel contrast booster makes a difference.

According to rtings color volume is lower on the A9G....

Demo the tvs at a store with the content of your choice before deciding.

You can't go wrong with either. Although the Sony does have the best upscaling and motion handling. I don't game, so I'll defer on which is best for gaming. The Sony did beat (by a small margin) the LG in the US shoot-out.

Sony is the higher quality (build, motion, processor, burn in etc.). The peak Brightness isn't even noticeable really (mostly for test benchmarking, not real world usage), check out hdtvtest's video review that explains it. Most of the time they are the same.

Surprisingly, the LG just beat the Sony in the UK shoot-out. But it is not posted whether the scores were close in the various categories or not. I believe the audience voted in the UK shoot-out, and experts in the US shoot-out.

Experts have different taste vs. general consumer / enthusiast. The Sony probably placed 3rd in the shootout. It’s a great tv nevertheless.
