Advice on OLED. LG C8

Hi everyone. I have a chance to buy a LG C8 at a good price or wait for a while on a 65 inch C9. I have a 65 inch KS9500 Samsung curved at the moment.

Is this a worthy upgrade or should I wait for a bit? Will it be a big leap forward.

If the price is good and you're not a gamer, go for the C8.

I would go with the C9 over the C8. Better processor for better upscaling and motion handling, more future proof (HDMI 2.1). I'd also worry that the C8 is an open box return since last year's model (personally, I'd rather have new than open box or refurbished).

Don't go for C8 or C9 yet , wait 3 more weeks to see what LG announces as part of 2020 lineup and then decide. You'll be able to get a C8 or C9 few months into 2020 if the 2020 improvements aren't worth it to you. And as a rule of thumb, always avoid open box oleds.

Ah. Very wise. What you say makes perfect sense. I will hold off for now and wait for next years specs. I was just in the throws of buying madness. I just got 5.1.4 Atmos setup and had been going down the rabbit hole. You’re advice is perfect though.

Of course you'll be paying a significantly higher price for a 2020 model when they first come out, vs. discounted prices right now during the holidays. I doubt PQ will be significantly better on a C10 then a C9.
