Nice job on those boards DANNY. Any chance you got a pick of the bottom of the board completed? Just wondering what it looks like.

Thumbs up

Just want to send a quick "Thanks" out to Matt for providing this service.

The crossovers often times are the most unnerving part of the build, especially for a novice like me.

Having the boards allowed me to get a feel for how a crossover is laid out and also to develop my soldering skills.

I am not sure that I would have tackled the 1099's without his help.

Thanks again for all that you do.

1299 crossover boards?

In that the 1099 and 1299 are similar in terms of # of drivers etc, will a different board design be needed? I know the components are different, but are they different enough to need a new board (or is it too soon to say)?

If so, do you have any idea when you will have 1299 boards available?

Thanks!

Andrew

Yes, they are completely different crossover parts and the layout would be different. If not, that would certainly push me to get boards made up and included in the kit.

MTG90 hasn't even seen th XO details. In fact, final component brands/types haven't even been selected to be able to design a board. I'm working with Erich on that currently. So 1299 boards will be a little while yet.

Is it me or am I missing a hole in my 1099 boards? Lower right hand block. The small little capacitor hole. I can just drill it out right?

Does anyone have Matt's contact info? I sent him my 1099 XO stuff a couple of weeks ago, and he mentioned he would get to it within a few days, but I haven't heard from him, nor have I been able to get a response via PM. Just want to make sure he is OK. Please send me a PM if you have his phone number or something.

UPDATE: Matt is alive and well albeit busy!

CNC machines don't miss holes. Seems odd if a hole is missing.

It was definitely missed on the three boards. I posted a pick of one of the boards in my post and it's not there. I just drilled it out and they came out fine. Have to say for my first time putting the crossovers together they came out great.

Sorry about that. The holes are all drilled manually on my drill press using a template and occasionally I will miss a hole on a batch (usually 6 boards stacked at a time). I do a light check at the end to make sure all of them are drilled out but even so it is not hard to miss one.
