MBM Build

I am building 2 MBMs using the kit's and flat packs from DIY Sound Group. These are to be paired with 1099s. I am a little un-sure on how long to cut the center tube length for the port. It likes like it should be 4.66" for a 36hz tuning however I am not really sure. I will have more as I continue to look into it.

The entire length of the port with flares should be about 11" long to tune around 35hz.

Port instructions are here:

Great thanks that was a lot easier than the semi guessing I was doing with the formulas on the paper that came with the port.

As always great service Erich

I have finished them up and after a hiccup with one of the inukes I have them up and running. I still need to run REW which I have not yet run at all for the room. I have been listening to them as is and I am very pleased so far. I setup them up according to @Tuxedocivic:

Channel 1 to MBM
- Low Pass = LR 24db/oct at 250hz
- Level = 0
- EQ should be based on measurements

Channel 2 to DIY Sound Group Speaker (ie. Fusion 8 or 10)
- High Pass = LR 24db/oct at 250hz
- Level = -5db (Fusion 10), -5db (Fusion 12), -6db (Cinema 8), -6db (Cinema 10 MAX), -7db (Cinema 1099)
- EQ may be available to further smooth the speaker response over an above what the passive XO does, ask the designer.

So what's your thoughts now on this entire setup. It has to sound amazing in your room. Have you played around with any settings for the mbm's since your last post. The sound stage has to be really nice in your room.

It does sound amazing I spent a bit of time Sunday running REW I want to run it a gain just to see if I can get it any smoother. It does sound great though. 1 more sub on back order still trying to decide if I should cancel and try a different model. Even without the 2nd sub it does sound good.
