Question 1byone ATSC Digital Converter Box w/Recording

There seems to be a new version of this. Opinions?

Interesting, I like all the buttons on the front of the unit. Other than that I'm guessing it will perform exactly the same as all the other M-Star equivalent boxes, which is to say somewhat buggy, big limitations and an awful remote
Still for the price these boxes are an amazing value(if you value money above all else)
Note those pictures are a bit odd, the first half are of a different box than the last half or the linked listing on Amazon

The first ones are the current unit.

The last ones are the newer unit.

The old one reminded me of the eMatic. The new one looks more like the ViewTV, with all the front-panel buttons. I think the ViewTV has a nicer remote (although to be fair I don't own a ViewTV, 1byOne, or eMatic for that matter). The 1byOne remote looks more like the typical remote for these boxes except for the funky placement of the '-' button.

Although I doubt that any of the screens in the product description are the actual screens of the interface, the mock-up they included in the product description apparently has 'ptoto' playback capability. So either it can play photos ... or bake potatoes ... or maybe both. :-)

Also the icon for "movie" looks more like a "music" icon, and the icon for "PVR" looks more like a "movie" icon
