How to record Foxtel Now from chromecast with blu-ray player

Hi folks,
I Have a Samsung MU7000 tv but it can only record from live TV.

Is it possible to record Foxtel Play, received via Chromecast, onto my Blu-Ray player?

AFAIK, Samsung MU-7000 televisions do not have recording capability. You don't list the model of your blu-ray player, but those that do record from an HDMI input probably will run up against copy protection issues. Things in Australia may be different. According to this thread, there's currently no way to record Foxtel Now. You'll have to live with its on-demand features.

Now, if you want to spend some time and money, there are some clunky-but-effective workarounds that require a computer, a splitter and a capture box. Whether that'll work with Chromecast on an Australian internet TV provider, I don't know. There's also computer-based video capturing software you could try assuming Foxtel Now is available on PCs.

Walking the fine line between jaw-dropping and a plain ol' yawn.

Foxtel non-recording

Thank you for responding Dr Don.

Foxtel is a big disappointment with its numerous charges and inadequate programming.

Cheers.
