Question Where to post Slingbox Q&A

I own a legacy Slingbox. Loved it. Primarily to play DVRd content from my DirecTV unit to iPad or iPhone in different rooms in my home. The real benefit was the on screen remote that would fast forward, etc.

A recent upgrade of DirecTV equipment to Genie 2 hardware eliminated the Slingbox. The Genie has no component inputs only HDMI which the Sling does not have.

So I'm looking for other solutions. Newer Slingbox? Other brand device? Workaround?

I did post in another forum that seemed correct but nver got any replies. If I need to move this, please let me know. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I'm investigating that and likely try it out. Will advise. Thx for the comment.

Newer slingboxes with HDMI are copy protected. Get a converter, as Arbegas suggested, or your older Genie.

Your welcome. I just bought one about 2 months ago.

A used 350 with the infrared transmitter (ebay) is the way to go.

Is that better than using my older legacy Slingbox you think?

If your legacy device does NOT have component inputs, then yes.

It does. I'll get the adapter ordered and give it a shot. It sure worked slick before I got the new Genie 2.
