TV36 cabinet is in the upper twelves. Something like 12.8 or 12.9 going by memory.

So it was lower than you originally posted during the pre order? I still have the pre order post saved on my phone from a long time ago.

It's 12.75 or so. I don't know what to tell you about a post from a year ago(?) I often try to share results in real time on new projects. So maybe I made a typo, or maybe it evolved. I do know I have posted this graph a few times of the final cabinet+port choice.

In any case anyone making a purchase decision on the different between upper 12 and 14.5....man that's a thin hair to be cutting. Where does the madness end? 14 = bad but 13.5 = good?..

They always do. The TV18 started out with a front firing port, then dual front firing ports, then a down firing port. And that was just the port. Plenty of other tweaks along the way as well. I always try to include a "as of now", "this can all change" disclaimer when discussing new designs until the FINAL production sample has been approved but given the haste of my posts it is certainly possible I missed that in a post from a year ago.

This is the downside to sharing early proto type impressions. I enjoy keeping everyone in the loop and feedback can be valuable as well. But at times someone may see an early post and not see the followup stuff. I'll make an effort to be more upfront about that in the future to minimize confusion. I think making one post for each new idea will help in that regard. I know I've been too haphazard in the past with this stuff.

Nah, v1812 and s3612. I have one new cabinet sample due in from Cincinnati and 7(?) from china that should all be here in the next 2 weeks(ish). But 4 of the china ones have been talked about already. The little 12 inch sealed and the three speakers(mt110,mt110sur,mtm210). I'll update as soon as it all gets here.

Dual 21 using the ipal is very difficult to gauge as those woofers are so expensive and they really need a lot of effective cabinet volume to do them justice sealed--not too mention a huge amount of amp power. So it gets very expensive, fast.

If I can figure out a way to do say a S4212 with our in house 1920w amp platform and come in <$2500 that might be worth considering I suppose. But the flavor of the month/year so far is deep tuned vented. And even so, there are only so many deep tuned vented options you can all lump together in a given price range. Once the pre order is over we have 4 options all in the 1900-3200 range? So moving forward I think it's time to shake things up a bit in the $750-1250 range.

This is what happens when info is released too soon. Like most things in life, the person will latch onto a statement, wrong, right or prelimary, that they heard way back when versus going off current info.

You got a tough job Tom. Keep us maniacs in the loop, or wait till the engineering is finaled. Most will like info on the go per se, but some cant keep it in sequence.

I just need to communicate in a more organized fashion I think. So many times it is at the tail end of another 14 hour day and I just want to share more than maybe I should about early stuff. And I'm not thinking about clarity as much as I need.

Much of my time in the office is spent on mindless tasks. Mail, phone, tracking inbound, tracking outbound, tons of paper work for international in/out bound, sitting on the phone for an hour trying to find a lost shipment, filing all the needed paperwork for a damaged shipment, printer did an auto upgrade and now it won't work. Fedex printer is broke, one of the 100 different things in inventory received is out of spec or half of expected quantity, or missing something vital, office AC is broke, shop lights go out, spray booth computer is flashing error codes, someone needs time off, forklift won't start, our huge $20,000 air compressor is leaking, roof has a leak in rain, our van is making a weird noise..., it's all me man..

So, WHEN I DO have the good fortune to sit down for a couple hours and do SOMETHING specific to audio...it's just plain fun. And I probably get a little too enthusiast about sharing sometimes.

Anyway, I'll be sure to be clearer moving forward.

That was just a rough price example. And it's all moving parts on multiple levels until final sign offs. So moving from 750 to 800 for example. But we all have to be realistic too. I mean you can't expect dual long throw 12 inch woofers, low tuned vented, and our in house 960w ICE DSP platform all with a 5 year warranty for $800 (+/- 50).

Tom,
Keep doing what you've been doing. I wouldn't change what you've been doing because someone made a statement over 2Hz. Most, if not all of us appreciate everything that you do. That's one of the reasons why I am a proud customer of PSA.

So basically, Tom didn't say it CAN'T or WOULDN'T happen.

Kidding, of course. I have enough subwoofage for the entire block. My next upgrade will be to PSA's speakers. Eagerly awaiting the new cabinet conversation to continue! Stay safe, gents.

I mean, it ALL looks *possible* until I start adding things up. Remember this isn't all china sourced. Twin 21 inch NEO woofers from italy. A built in OHIO ICE based amplifier. Everything assembled, tested, and boxed here in Ohio. It's a conundrum..

Of course! I was just excited that the TV concept has the potential to migrate to lower price ranges.
